SueParticipantI was in Talarico’s tonight and noticed that they’ve put in a divider between the bar and some of the tables, with a sign on it that says “must be 21 to enter” – I asked our waitress if that meant that they’d soon be admitting younger people (with 21+ past the divider at the bar) and she said yes, that was the plan, although they weren’t fully set up yet for it. I’d call before heading over (if some in your party are under 21) to find out whether it’s in effect or not.

WSBKeymasterThanks for the news! We will verify before posting to the home page – Junior Member of the Team has been honked off he can’t try their pizza ’cause he’s “just a kid” …

So this means that they will improve their serving times? Nothing is harder to do than take an already hungry child to a place that takes forever to seat, and serve.
Will they turn the music down a bit?
just playing Devil’s Advocate.

JiggersMemberCool. I’m all for having little brats run around during Karaoke nights.
November 23, 2008 at 4:22 am #647804
GenHillOneParticipantTodd, perhaps those are planned methods of encouraging a 12+ crowd rather than Jiggers’ rugrats ;)

austinMemberChildren make a great compliment to a lot of noisy televisions.

kellymParticipantargh. I’m a mother of two children and to be honest I liked the fact that on the few occasions I get out as an adult, child-free pizza, cocktails and general atmosphere were available in little old west seattle….oh well.

westpeaceMemberI’m not looking forward to the all ages, but the bartender told me it’s only till 9pm.

JenVMember“Welcome to Talaricos, where we strive daily to make your experience as painful and horrible as possible. I am just going to go on an extended break and then talk to my friends, I hope you don’t mind waiting next to this table full of screaming children whose parents are also apparently on a break. I’ll be with you in about 45 minutes, at which time I will return with a horrendously inflated bill for greasy pizza and overpriced, watered down cocktails. Enjoy!”

JiggersMemberI totally agree on weak watered down cocktails. I wonder how they’ll enforce the no kids inside after the 9pm rule.
November 25, 2008 at 1:54 am #647811
OlMomParticipantI would guess that with the downturn in the economy a paying patron is desired even those that have children with them.
November 25, 2008 at 2:10 am #647812
SueParticipantOlMom, that was my thought too – that they were hoping to increase patronage while less people were eating out.
Jiggers, doesn’t Skylark already have 21+ after a certain hour in the evening? I wouldn’t think it would too hard to enforce.

GenHillOneParticipantAdmiral Pub also allows minors until 9:00 – we’ve taken advantage of the pool tables, dart boards, and big screens (on a weeknight – Fri/Sat definitely more “adult”).

villianaleMemberI went to Talarico’s tonight and they are officially all ages until 9pm. No big deal… still great service and great food. I’m really excited by the fact that I can still go there on the weekends and see a great band without the kids and without a cover. I do got a question for Jen V??? What’s with the vehemence?? Are you a spurned EX of one of the employees??
December 12, 2008 at 4:40 am #647815
villianaleMemberParents deserve a night out when you cant get a sitter! Cheers! Happy Holidays!
December 12, 2008 at 4:50 am #647816
JenVMemberno, villianale- I just hate crappy service in a substandard bar.
December 12, 2008 at 9:04 pm #647817
villianaleMemberHave you let the place know you have had bad service? Or are one of those people that everything is always bothersome? Just curious! Cheers
December 12, 2008 at 9:27 pm #647818
JenVMembercheers yourself villianale. Of course I let them know how crappy their service was. And no, not bothersome- just expect to be treated well since I worked in service myself. that didn’t happen, and they lost a customer for life.
If you’re interested, you can read the thread where I complained about them before to get the details, or you can just draw your own conclusions. I don’t really care. You like them, great. More power to ya. I will stick with the Maha and Shadowland where they make great drinks and know how to keep customers around. Plus, no pesky children or silly little frat boys.
December 12, 2008 at 10:42 pm #647819
ZenguyParticipantYep, raves to Shadowland, good drinks, friendly staff and interesting food. Saw JenV and the BF there the other night, I love running into peeps I know.
December 16, 2008 at 9:11 pm #647820
westpeaceMemberI will never go to Shawdowland again especially if the guests are as rude as the people on this blog. You talk about frat boys and silly kids, i bet no one asked you on a date in college and now you’re just bitter. For the rude comments on kids, grow up, you were a kid once! Stay in your little bars and stop being a bully. If you don’t like it, go! No need to call kids names…Really? go where ever you want, but leave with class.
December 16, 2008 at 9:34 pm #647821
villianaleMemberI like shadowland, maha, tal’s , rocksport, and on and on… and I’ve had a bad service experience at every place. But I like my neighborhood and I like to support my hood. Ice cream at Husky, coffee and pastries at Nouveau, etc… and I’m sure when you were in the service industry Jen V you were absolutely perfect and never, ever gave bad service. That’s sure evident from your overall attitude. Oh, by the way, Tal’s is having a benefit for the coats for kids foundation this week… What are you doing to better your community this season?
December 16, 2008 at 9:40 pm #647822
JenVMemberwow, villainale – do I know you? Did I piss you off in a former life? Why don’t you keep your opinions to yourself…oh, I get it- you’re either a waitress at Talaricos or hoping to sleep with one, aren’t you? Whatever I do to benefit my community is my business. Maybe I will drop a coat off at Tallywhackers, though – thanks for the update. Rest assured I won’t be staying for drinks – because I’d never get served.
Here’s the lowdown on Talaricos – again, not to belabor the point for the slow-witted – if you like it, fine. If I don’t – fine. This is a forum where people offer their opinions. It’s called the internet. I am sorry if I hurt your little feelings by not liking the places you like.
December 16, 2008 at 9:50 pm #647823
JenVMemberOh, and westpeace – glad we wont be seeing you and your ilk at Shadowland!
December 16, 2008 at 10:01 pm #647824
villianaleMemberHmmm… interesting point. Not very witty, nor very well put. You really just contradicted yourself. It is a BLOG so my opinion of yours is, well, just that. MY OPINION.
So, by trying to strike first with words like “slow-witted” and “little feelings” you really just showed how petty and unimaginative you really are. Now I know your opinion on anything here is really not an opinion but just your need for attention.
No I don’t work at Tal’s and don’t want to sleep with anyone there (of course you take that angle) just a person who is annoyed by people that complain and complain but are never a part of the solution. Happy Holidays! Nice to see Scrouge alive and well in West Seattle :)
