bethMemberWe have an ’08 Outback that we purchased from a dealer we won’t name in Renton. We are nearing 25,000 miles and have taken the car to the dealer for all the required maintenance, but we’ve had less than stellar service from them. It’s not that they do a poor job, it’s just that they have zero customer service skills. So we are looking for an alternative shop in West Seattle that services Subaru’s. Any good recommendations?

hopeyParticipantI am planning to take my Subaru (which I got from a different local dealer — sorry you had a bad experience!) to the new Swedish Automotive location on 35th the next time it needs service. They service Subarus too.

TDeParticipantA few years ago I took my Subaru to the small foreign auto service place on Alaska… down by the Lien Animal Clinic. They were very nice and did a terrific job.

funkietooParticipantCourtesy Tire in the Alaska Junction is where I take my 15 year old Subaru. Tim, Matt, Kelly and the rest of the gang are knowledgable, practical mechanics, plus you are greeted with a smile. Excellent people skills.

KatherineLParticipantThat place by Lien Animal Clinic is Westside Import Repair. I don’t know what kind of customer service you’re looking for; Gary and Carl won’t kowtow, but they will be genial. And they’ll take good care of your car.

mpentoParticipantI noticed the swedish automotive are putting out a billboard offering subaru service. Plus if you have the time you could search the forum at http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=14 The link should take you to their Pacific northwest forum. I’m still trying to find a place that I would return to (and yes maybe its just me)

happy hourParticipantNever go to Alki automotive. They have very poor reputation. I now know 1st hand. I have an older mercedes and was surprised to find out that Good year by tire- near jefferson square
works on all kinds of vehicles. JR is fabulous.they will also have drop off and pick up service for clients or loaner- with notice. Very thorough and Honest, most reasonably priced! Carter is good too. You pay competitive prices

pennidoggParticipantI have a 07 Outback and have been taking it to the Carter in Ballard (but they’ve only done oil changes), they have been very nice and knowledgeable. Be sure and check their website for service specials.
