I have been a Verizon customer for ten years and the old/decrepit Razr will be traded in for a new iPhone which will also be available through Sprint as well as Verizon. Sprint, being desperate is offering a better “data” plan than Verizon. Does anyone in West Seattle have experience with Sprint reception? The best data plan is worthless if you cannot use it. I’ve had no problems from Verizon, but the Razr isn’t exactly a “Smart” phone. Thanks.

Go 4G, or nothing. We use VZ and the speed is amazing.

    JayDee…

call Verizon and explain to them what you can get from sprint for exactly the same phone. tell them you really don’t want to stop being a verizon customer, but…

    then wait..

if the customer rep doesn’t give you a good deal, ask to speak to a supervisor and start over.

hubby has a 4G smart google phone for work (sprint) and a 3G droid for his personal phone (Verizon).

i thought we could save money and give up the second phone at Verizon but it turns out that he uses the verizon phone at home because the coverage is that much better…

    go figure..

invest some time and get yourself a better deal from verizon.

I have Sprint because the deal was way better than anything the other major carriers would offer.

The coverage is fine for the most part, except for in my basement. But neither TMobile nor Verizon works there either.

Thanks for the input: JoB – The whole negotiation angle is against my character which is non-confrontational.

Sprint: I am worried that it is the weakest link — what good is unlimited data if you can’t get a signal? I have Wifi at home and at work (for now–though they tell us to “behave”). There is a $10 difference between the Verizon and Sprint unlimited and voice plans, frustrated by my smart phone inexperience. What is 5 GB of data? 20 WSB downloads? 200 WSB page views? If the later, it won’t happen. I like WSB but I have no idea of the datastream. Oh well. I will soon have a phone where I can see who is calling, or who has called, and it will fit in my home Apple ecosystem. Thanks for your opinions.

I read that Sprint will more than likely have an unlimited plan for their iPhone, Verizon is going to a tier, and will no longer offer the unlimited data with new phone (2 years for unlimited data the first Verizon iPhone G4.)

I have a G3 iPhone ATT, got tired of waiting for Verizon iPhone, but had Sprint before. Customer service not so great with Sprint, but they are the least expensive for data and voice and better than ATT. Sprint does have a fast data system. I am waiting for G-5 iPhone, hopefully it will come to Verizon, so I can bundle other family iPhone. Remember it’s $200 AND a 2 year contract for the phone. We too are a Apple home.

    don’t negotiate.

    don’t ask

    don’t justify

tell them what you want and why and shut up

then wait to see what they offer

if you don’t like that offer,

go to the next guy up and repeat the offer.

this is a closing tool you can use to your advantage.

there is nothing like becoming an immovable object to get results

I’ve been with Sprint for 10 years and got the Evo 4G 2 years ago and have had no issues with service or reception in WS. My mother-n-law is with Verizon and is constantly dropping calls and mising calls becuz the phone doesn’t ring, and a VM doesn’t come in for hours

We have Sprint and have had it for years. When we moved to North Admiral we lost all reception. We had enough dropped calls, VM with no missed calls, etc…… they gave us an Air Rave…wave(??). Free and they wave the monthly extra line fee. It’s like having your own tower. We did have to complain consistantly but they worked with us….gave us credits, etc…. basically kept us happy customers. We approached them just as Job said….Come at them with the facts, see what they have to offer, if it’s not acceptable tell them. It worked. :) We’re happy. I guess I should add that I have an HTC Evo. It’s a 3G BUT I can switch to 4G if I want. I have no complaints about the performance of the Data Plan. :)
