jissyParticipantSo excited to see this back! (And sorry, have NO idea the location).

sbreParticipantHey DBP, it’s so good to see SiWS again, thanks a lot bud.
I too don’t know the location, I’m guessing the fence and paintings are west facing though(?)

365StairsParticipantRandom guess…because I remember seeing art on a fence near 50th and Alaska…or Edmunds…

DBPMember—Fences are north and south facing, respectively.
—Sorry 365. Not close.
This little display is spread out over two parcels of privately owned land. It seems to have been got up mostly for the benefit of passersby. But if the artist was thinking of bringing art to the masses, he/she was being wildly optimistic. There simply isn’t much public in this thoroughfare.

DBPMemberNote seashells along the side of the staircase. Someone has glued all kinds of shells and other sea creatures around the edge of the first landing from the top.
Very whimsical.

sbreParticipantAh-ha, I think I’ve got it.
The vantage point of this last photo gave it away.
We’re looking down the steps westward, the street at the top of the photo also heading west is Genessee, the street running from left-to-right just below it is Delridge.
Am I right DBP???

DBPMemberWhew! That was a squeaker.
Yah, you got it, sbre! This is just a stone’s throw from the Youngstown Cultural Arts Center, and the influence is obvious.
It’s a seldom-used stairway, which is odd, because it’s wide, it’s new, and it features some of the best territorial views in West Seattle.
The neighbors obviously care about it, and are trying to encourage people to respect it. They’ve decorated the area very nicely. My pix don’t do it justice.
Anyway, good karma to all, including:
1) sbre
2) the Pigeon Point / N. Delridge neighborhoods
3) WSB member mirabile, who’s been helping me discover the many joys of West Seattle stairways
