Short-Term 30 hr/week Nanny Needed in West Seattle for Sweet 11 Month Old Boy!

Professional and easy going family in West Seattle is seeking a nurturing, experienced, responsible/reliable, and loving Nanny for their 11 month old baby boy starting (ideally) October 14th. This commitment is for 10 weeks. Fun perk: You’ll get lots of puppy love and playtime with this job!

The perfect candidate for this position is mature and genuinely passionate about working with children, has considerable infant experience, and has demonstrated a commitment to the childcare profession. A background in education or child development (or related field) would be ideal.

Details: The puppies are coming! This family is expecting a litter of Labradoodles, and mom will be very busy with the puppies until they are all adopted at the end of December. The family is looking to hire a wonderful Nanny who can provide outstanding care for their baby while Mom is working with the litter. Baby is a sweet and alert little guy who enjoys interacting with people! The Nanny will provide full-care for baby during work hours (approx. 8:30-2:30 M-F), and also help out with light cleaning during his daily naps. Mom will also need help with lots of “puppy laundry” (dog bedding, etc.).

Candidates must understand that Mom works from home, and will be around most of the time (or maybe taking a nap if the baby or puppies kept her up all night!). 

Optional: A “plus” would be someone who is able to help with meal prep during naptimes. Mom has done the meal planning and will do the cooking, so it would be simple things like cutting up vegetables to make the cooking easier for mom later in day. Another “plus” but not necessary is a Nanny with a musical background, or someone who is comfortable singing to the baby.

Additional Details:

• Start date: October 14, 2013

• Location: West Seattle (Just 2 blocks from the West Seattle Junction)

• Ages/# of children: Baby boy, 11 months old. The family also has a 14 year old who will almost always be at school during work hours.

• Schedule/# of hours: Short-term, 30 hours/week: approx. 8:30am-2:30pm, Monday-Friday

• Duration: approx. 10 weeks (will end just before Christmas, or the week after)

• Salary: $14/hour DOE

Position Requirements:

• Min. 2-3 years of professional childcare experience w/ excellent references.

• Min. 1 year prior professional NANNY experience

• Child CPR and First Aid certified (or willingness to renew prior to start date)

• Must currently live in the Puget Sound Area

• Must have genuine love and respect for the art/profession of childcare; highly responsible, mature and trustworthy; strong work ethic and a positive outlook on life; patient and loving!

• Smoke/Drug free

• No criminal history – willing to submit to background and driving history check

• Willing to commit 10 weeks (until the end of December, 2013)
