    The Seattle Drum School’s south location in Georgetown will begin a variety of group classes and ensembles this fall.

    Found Instruments LAB

    In this large ensemble, we will practice pieces composed for ‘found instruments’. These are instruments that you can find around town – common items such as car parts, buckets, sea shells, or pvc pipes! We will address proper playing techniques, general musicality, and performance techniques.Start your own percussion ensemble without spending a fortune on equipment… Show your friends how easy it can be to make music… Demonstrate for others, how anything can be turned into a musical instrument!

    Course Length: 6 weeks Instructor: Becca Baggenstoss

    When: Wednesdays evenings 6-7pm starting: September 23rd, 2009

    Gypsy Jazz Workshop

    All violinists and guitarists interested in learning thegypsy jazz styleand having fun playing music can get involved in this workshop. We will explore the European style of hot gypsy swing pioneered in Paris by violinist Stephane Grapelli and gypsy guitaristDjango Reinhardtthrough the 1st half of the 20th century. This workshop will be instructed by instructor Yusuf Kilgore.

    When: Tuesday Evenings from 6pm-7:30 Starting September 22, 2009

    Cost: $150 six weeks

    Rhythm LAB

    Where: Seattle Drum School Georgetown

    Instructor: Mark Villano

    When: Thursdays September 10th & 24th, 2009 Time: 6pm-7pm

    Who: This class is designed for drummers/percussionists beg-adv. and or ANY

    other instrumentalist at any level who wants to expand their knowledge of

    rhythm. Even if you have never

    played drums or percussion before to advanced

    player looking to develop rhythmic vocabulary, this is a great place to start.

    Adult Rock Ensemble

    Where: SDS Georgetown

    Price: $150 Six week session

    When: Tuesdays starting September 8th, 2009

    Time: 7PM-9PM

    Performance Ear Training Class

    -Commit more music to memory

    -Learn to transcribe from cds

    -Learn from the masters

    -Improve your phrasing, technique, and time

    “The best thing I can teach you today is how to teach yourself.” I say this very often when I am teaching my private students. This class will help improve your ear and your memory. We will explore several ear training techniques and learn music by rote.

    When: Tuesdays 6pm-7pm; starting September 29th, 2009 Six week course!

    Cost: $ 120

    Instructor: Marc Fendel

    Who: This class is open to ANY musician with at least 3 years of playing experience.

    Adult Group Lessons For Drum Set

    This class is for adults who enjoy learning in a group setting. Limited to three students plus the instructor. We’ll have four drum sets in the room.

    -Learn the basics for rock, jazz, & pop

    Who: Anybody who loves drums begining-intermediate level

    When: TBA

    Instructor: Davis Martin

    Cost: $75 per hour (just $25 per person- only three in a class!)

    History of Punk Rock

    Delve into the roots and history of Punk Rock including exploration of the bands and individuals who helped shape and influence Punk. You will learn about the differing sub movements within Punk, such as

    geographical and political. Discussions of the movement to the mainstream force it is today.

    When: Wednesday Nights 6pm-8pm Start October 7th, 2009 in the SLAB

    Cost: $100

    Who: Open to anybody! All ages.
