Jks3369ParticipantHi! We are new to Seattle (just moved here from the Boston area) and my daughter will be going to kindergarten in the fall at Schmitz Park. We would love a chance to meet a pal or two before the school year starts. If anyone is interested in an outing to a park or something of the sort please let me know! Thanks!!

BonnieParticipantI bet there are set kindergarten playdates. Check out their website or facebook page.

Ms. SparklesParticipantI know that the Schmitz Park PTA schedules several Kindergarten play dates throughout the summer so the kids know a few people on their first day of school. Generally they’re mid-day on week days, but there’s always one or two on a weekend.
Make sure the PTA/ Kindergarten cohort has your email address so you can find out when these are.
I have a daughter who just finished Kindergarten (Mr. Herk is great – every kid should should be so lucky to have a Kindergarten teacher like him =-) – not quite what you’re looking for, but if you think she’d like a pal “wisened to the system,” contact me at percypuppoppydog at comcast.net
P.S. my husband (originally from Maine) is a Bruins fan and was on pins and needles for hours last night ;-)

I WonderMemberGo to the playground @ SP. There are usually SP kids and parents running around, biking, etc. Welcome to West Seattle, you’ll find lots of northeasterners here. Liston for the Pemco “Confused East Coast Transplant” ad ;)

MomofboysMemberI have a little boy entering Kindergarten and typically prefers to play with the girls. He is a sweetheart! The first Kindergarten playdate was yesterday- but we could be up for a playdate and have a couple of other friends we could introduce you to. If you are interested in putting something on the calendar, send me your email and we can coordinate. I was born & raised on east coast as well :) Welcome! West Seattle is awesome
