WFMemberi find it extremely annoying that politicians do not honor the national “DO NOT CALL” list. further when they leave a voice message claiming that they share the same values as me.
everyone has different values and for a politician to make claim as to what my values are is not right and to do it when someone is on the national DO NOT CALL list needs is flat out disrespectful

SueParticipantUnfortunately, it looks as if political calls are exempt from the do not call list. But it does annoy me as well, since my phone is my cell phone and I’m paying for those calls and the calls I make to voicemail to listen to them. I do not vote based on anything that comes to me on the phone and/or in the mail.

WFMemberit is time politicians learn to respect the DO NOT CALL list.
yes they may have exempted themselves but if people let them get an earful complaint each time they make one these annoying calls hopefully they might get the message

anonymeParticipantWF, I agree with you completely. Political robo-calls, IMO, have either no effect or a negative one. Same with those crappy, glossy, giant political postcards that come in the mail – and then straight into recycling. I can’t imagine that anyone would be dumb enough to make political choices based on either approach. Both the calls and mail should fall under Do Not Call and Direct Mail restrictions respectively.

WFMemberhopefully they will get the message that robo calls piss many people off; especially those of us on the National Do Not Call listing

EdSaneParticipantGuess I will be the lone dissenting opinion. Political speech is different from marketing and advertisers. They should have the right to call and persuade the voter even if the receiver finds it mildly inconvenient.

JoBParticipantthere is a fix for that

WFMemberproblem is they leave messages on your answering machine.
edsane – it is the robo calls that is the issue. if they want to contact me use live people!
