guitarboy53MemberHello, I was hoping someone can recommend a good company in or near West Seattle for a Fireplace insert replacement. I have heard of places like Sutter Home and Hearth, but I was wondering if anyone has worked with any of the local gas fireplace companies ad can recommend a good one. Thanks in advance!

Are you replacing a wood burner with gas? A previous gas fireplace with another or an open hearth with a gas insert?
I am looking for another wood stove insert to fit in my second fireplace. I can only heat one floor now when the power goes out and I am expecting a few strong pacific storms this year.

This company has done good work in the past on other gas appliances but since I am interested in both heat and efficiency, I have never considered a gas fireplace insert.

GenHillOneParticipantIf you don’t hear from anyone about a WS company, I used Sutter in Ballard 3 years ago for a gas insert – gas log/fireplace retrofit – and have been happy. The same salesman (I didn’t even remember having someone specific) recently helped me with some good advice so I could redo my hearth.
edit to ad (Ken we crossed) – I was surprised at the time to find a few brands that use (convection?) instead of an electric fan. Obviously, in a power outage, you’d lose the fan. We went this route and it really kicks out the heat and didn’t have to mess around with wiring.
