Sorry you had a bad experience. I’ve been there once and it was the best meal I’ve had anywhere in the city for quite some time.

If you were offended by not getting a booth at Springhill, beware Bohemian. They’ll put you at a ‘tiny’ table as well unless you are a party of four. In these tough economic times restaurants just can’t afford to have 2 people use up a large table while groups are waiting. In your case it sounds like the booths never filled up, but it’s tough to predict when a bunch of groups will show up.

    Ama Ama is awesome!

I like Shadowland for weekday lunch. And no matter who you are, the wait is lengthy. Even the landlords wait for their food. No two or three tiered food trendy special friend service.

wimsikl…I’m so sorry that your birthday dinner was this bad. If I was you I would sit down and write Mark Fuller a lengthy letter about your experience, emphasizing that word of mouth, and NOT his past reputation, is what will make his restaurant successful or not. I probably would have questioned the lack of a steak knife right there…I would have looked at the wait person and said “Are you serious?” – lol..But…the owners need to know when things aren’t right, aren’t good. They may or may not read this forum…perhaps they may even comp you another meal to change your mind.

    You’ll love Ama Ama :)
