This morning as I was walking Guido, my Jack Russell terrier, at Hiawatha park we came across a pretty badly injured baby squirrel, being pecked by crows and trying hard to get away. It broke my heart to see and I couldn’t just let it suffer. I found some nice people who lived nearby who gave me a box, and a very kind woman and her young children who helped get it in the box. My very interested terrier and I brought it to the community center at Hiawatha, where a very kind woman working there was more than helpful and very concerned called Animal Control. I believe she said her name was Whitney. I just wanted to say thank you very much to Whitney, the neighbors who helped, and the nice women and her children! Thank you!

It still amazes me that stories like these are so common in Seattle. It’s honestly the friendliest city I’ve ever lived in.

Hooray for Seattle and hooray for the West Side!
