KevinParticipantMy wife and I just purchased a new mattress set. We saw mattresses selling for as much as $4000 at a number of different stores. We felt like we were shopping for an automobile. We experienced more than one slimy, high high pressure sales person.
.
Although not a West Seattle business, we found the best price, best service, NO pressure, store in Seattle, at Everest Mattress on Elliott Ave West – 206-284-9531.
.
Everest is a small, family run company (since 1949) who makes their own mattresses in their factory in Marysville. They make the buying process very simple – the showroom consists of just 5 or 6 display models.
.
They also dispense interesting facts such as – there are only three manufacturers of coil springs that all mattress companies purchase to produce their products.
.
Select your mattress, select you firmness, and then your mattress is custom made later in the week. To hold costs down, they deliver only on Thursdays, and also have a very reasonable $35 delivery fee, not to mention hauling your old mattress away. There is a good reason most of the competition offers “free” delivery.
.
And before you go mattress shopping anywhere, have a look at the following website I found about half way through our search. Amazing dirty laundry the mattress companies do not want you to know!

Rachel and her mom are FANTASTIC!

Disclaimer – this post is NOT an ad, but written solely based on the great service and great prices which truly makes this a “deal.”
.
PS – this is a hybrid post – combination rave / deal :)

GenHillOneParticipantDitto! I’m a past Everest customer too. We were sent by someone in the furniture business who told me to “never, never buy a mattress from a department store, unless you like being robbed.” Great prices and (even if I could feel the difference) I can’t ever imagine spending what some stores ask.

MercyMoiParticipantIt’s Mattress Weekend on the WSB!
I’d consider them for my next coil purchase. I’m a memory foam convert, myself, and it doesn’t look like they make those. But it’s too true, the mattress industry is scam central. Before deciding on my purchase I spent a lot of time on the same link Kevin shared.

JanSParticipantI have purchased mattresses and box springs numerous times from Everest. I tell my friends that it’s the best deal in town…not sure they’ve heard me. Their pillow tops are great..best deal around ! :)

TammiWSMemberI bought my mattress from them as well. About 7 years ago now and the mattress is still in great shape!
