DBPMemberThat’s very clever, Mike.
Better than what I had, in fact.
Hint: Famous title based on famous line from famous poem.

DBPMemberVery close, Mike.
For the third word, think Julie Andrews in “The Sound of Music.”
(But I expect you already know this one and you’re just being cute.)
June 25, 2012 at 8:08 pm #746056
miwsParticipantChecked in the mirror this morning. Far from cute.
Yeah, I actually know what it is, but couldn’t see how the piano key actually specified that word, so cheated by Googling “piano notes” or something like that, and came up with “E”.
I now see where it comes from with the Julie Andrews reference.

June 25, 2012 at 8:18 pm #746057
DBPMemberWell, you could’ve made that work with an exclamation point.
Like: “You turn E! on.”
—But that would be kind of stoopid.
Â
Or it could’ve worked as: “You turn eon!”
—But that’s only appropriate if it’s someone’s birthday and they’re really, really old.
Â
Say, how long is an eon, anyway? I’ve always wondered.
Maybe it’s relative.
Like: “My relatives are EONS old.”

JanSParticipantMike..if you sing the song ” Do,Re, Me…does that help?
June 26, 2012 at 2:39 am #746060
miwsParticipantOh, I got it right off, Jan.
Then DPB’s clarification helped me understand where the piano keyboard comes in.
It’s just that….well….DPB is a nice guy, and a good friend and all, but I’ll be damned if I’m gonna tell him that he turns me on…

DBPMemberI think mayhap #189 was a bit obscure. Perhaps I got carried away. And everyone knows you shouldn’t let that happen.

miwsParticipantI am what I am?
(I think I thought of that, but wasn’t quite getting how each image played into it.)

AndyParticipantI think, therefore I (y)am.

miwsParticipantWhat Andy said is what I first thought of!
Just couldn’t get “therefore” from the “poof” image.
Mike
June 27, 2012 at 5:21 pm #746068
AndyParticipantWell, he could just be saying “Don’t get carried away,” but up ’til now the posts have all been answered by adding the three images.
June 27, 2012 at 5:22 pm #746069
DBPMemberMike: OK, so now you know what the orange vegetable is, right? You’ve left off one letter, so you might want to add that in, but the puzzle works, whether you add that letter or not.
So ok, the puzzle is a phrase. Put the vegetable into the phrase at the end. Then go back and figure out what the guy in the first part is doing. Pretend like you’re him; keep it first person.
When you get the first and last parts of the phrase, the middle part should fall right into place.
June 27, 2012 at 5:24 pm #746070
DBPMemberYes, that’s right, Andy. You got it!
Everyone else on this Blog knows what a devious bastard I am, so it doesn’t throw them when I pull something like that. But I guess you were just trying to give me the benefit of the doubt, huh?
Mistake. Big mistake.

miwsParticipantJune 27, 2012 at 5:28 pm #746072
DBPMemberSheesh! Hard to keep up with you guys.
OK, Andy, so you got both of them in short order today, with an assist from Mike on one of them.
