skeeterParticipantI don’t know. Is the 38% number a projection of King County overall? Or King County’s projection of just Seattle? My guess is Seattle turnout was higher than the county overall because of Prop 1. But your math seems reasonable Wake.
I need to start thinking about that oversight committee. How are the 11 chosen? I seriously want to throw my name in the hat if the commitment is 15 hours or less per month.

wakefloodParticipantTwo suggestions, Skeets.
First, call the staff of a City Councilmember who’s going to be on the nascent Parks Board and get whatever information you can. Be persistent, they’re gatekeepers. See if they can help you sort out the selection process and timing.
Two, it would be very handy, maybe crucial, to have some sponsorship from recognized local community leaders. Several local citizen advisory committees exist around WS and many of the participants are sharp, well-regarded and have some idea how this process may work. People like Vlad Oustimovitch and Cindi Barker and Steve Sindiong and many others. Some of them may have connection to Sr. Parks Dept. staff you can contact as well. Look around and contact a few of them to see if you can meet and get thoughts from them? And I suspect you already have some contacts through the biking activist community as well?
(Apologies in all I mentioned should you read this and think my name-dropping as uncalled for – :-)
There’s going to be some stiff competition, I imagine. Good luck!

skeeterParticipantGood suggestions Wake. I’m gonna let my amazing looks do most of the work, though.

wakefloodParticipantThat goes without saying, Skeets. In a fair world, that alone would be enough.

JanSParticipanthey, Wake…Steve Sindiong is a great guy…but…he lives in Alexandria, VA now, working with the local gov’t. there ..he was in town last weekend, however. Having said that, I do think he has knowledge to tap into , even at a distance :)
