SueParticipantCrowe, the instructions are in TR’s post (#1) at https://westseattleblog.com/blog/forum/topic.php?id=2554 – it’s the post that’s stickied at the top on new forum features. Hope that helps!

CroweMemberTHANK YOU :O)

AnonymousInactiveCrowe,
Your picture seemed too dark, so I brightened it. I sent you a PM on WSB with a URL for the brightened picture.

GenHillOneParticipantme thinks Crowe is going for the mysterious look :)

AnonymousInactiveI have been a volunteer for dog rescue for at least ten years. I do minor things for the Rescue Person. One of the things I do is prepare pictures of dogs for the Petfinder
website.
I have been wondering lately if I should brighten my own monitor’s settings.
GenHillOne and Traci,
Are you able to see Crowe in the picture?
With my current monitor settings, I see black with some lighter objects in the bottom center of the picture and a trail of discrete bright spots near the lower right corner of the picture.

JanSParticipantI see…her face, in her hands…looking a bit shy, a bit mysterious ;-)
and I can tell that she has changed to the lighter version :)

AnonymousInactiveJanS,
Thank you for the feedback. It seems to me that her picture would change in the list of articles, though, and it has not for me.

JanSParticipanthmm…maybe it’s just my eyes (they’ve been known to play tricks on me – lol)….and maybe Crowe has a “dark side” that she likes to reflect in her picture ;-)

JimmyGMemberMaybe crowe wanted her photo dark?
Did she ask for it to be lightened and I missed that somewhere?

JenVMemberyeah, that whole exchange was a tad creepy.

AnonymousInactiveNot everyone is able to do simple things to digital pictures. I thought it might be helpful if I were to brighten the picture. I couldn’t see what the picture was because it was too dark, so I brightened it anyway. I didn’t post the URL in public.
Once, I brightened a picture of a dog that WSB posted, but I guess they didn’t want/need it because WSB kept using the old picture.

JimmyGMemberSome people on internet forums make their avatar intentionally dark or vague or blurred for privacy reasons.
I’m not saying that’s what Crowe was going for, I’m just saying I found it odd that without asking for help manipulating her photo you did it.
Gave me a small weird vibe is all.
January 5, 2009 at 2:58 am #653108
AnonymousInactiveJimmyG,
Would you also get a small weird vibe if I brightened your picture then PM’d a URL to you so
you could use it if you want?
Maybe you didn’t notice that the person whose picture I brightened asked for help including a picture with her posts to the WSB forum. Maybe that would not suggest to you that that person may not be able to brighten a digital picture.
Maybe you didn’t notice that I didn’t post the URL in public for the brightened picture.
Maybe you didn’t notice that I already stated that I did not post the URL in public.
Maybe you should alert the authorities.

WSBKeymasterPlease all stop this right here.
People are free to offer help.
Others are free to accept it or not accept it.
If you want to speculate about others’ motives, do it in private conversation.
If you think something is awry somewhere, flag me, as has been done moments ago re: this thread. I don’t think it’s entirely off the rails yet but it’s close.
