Although “green builder” or “eco-home” can mean many different things, it generally does not mean simply incorporating a little reclaimed lumber while at the same time ignoring best practices, using sub-standard equipment, polluting the ground water with oil, denuding the land or engaging in other environmentally adverse activities. As we continue to build much needed housing throughout West Seattle, if you are in a position to hire a builder/remodeler and if you care about your property, your neighbors and the environment, please look beyond the pretty words to the actual performance. The Northwest EcoBuilding Guild is a good resource for more information, podcasts, and finding contractors, architects, suppliers and other professionals truly committed to green building.

You mean, like the one who both Friday from 5 pm to 8 pm and Saturday from 4 pm (to whenever) is “teaching” someone how to drive a diesel excavator on in a Junction residential neighborhood on the smokiest day of the year?
