    Happy Hot Mid-August Everyone!

Just received the latest needs list from Nickelsville, from the e-mail alert from NV’s Central Committee meeting this morning:

Greetings from your Nickelodeon friends! We hope everyone is doing well. We are sending out a rather urgent update regarding our camp and its current needs. While we do our best to keep our expenses to a minimum, our population has grown; proof that homelessness is alive and thriving. Our most urgent need is money. The cost of sheer, basic sanitation and emergency needs for up to 150 men, women, and children is roughly $3,000.00 per month. 4 Honey Buckets, 1 Dumpster, 2 Cell phones, and gasoline to run our generator. Donations to Nickelsville are tax deductible.

    Nickelsville

    PO Box 2548

    Seattle 98111

In additon to monetary donations the camp is in need of:

–water deliveries (you can grab one or more 5 gallon cans at Nickelsville, fill them, and return.)

–pet supplies such as canned pet food, leashes, collars, etc.

    –rat and fly traps

–food storage containers, large (for our pantry) or small (for individuals, such as Christmas cookie tins.)

–first aid supplies such as band aids, ointment, etc. as well as over the counter medications like aspirn.

–canned and non-perishible food, as we don’t have refrigeration

–pallets and other non-treated wood for cooking fires

Meanwhile, stay tuned for upcoming information regarding Nickelsville’s 4th Birthday Party on September 22 at 2:00 P.M. We look forward to seeing you there!

    Respectfully,

    Nickelsville Central Committee

Thanks for any help that you can give!

    Hi Mike,

Do you know what size of collars and pet leashes are needed? Small dogs/cats or big dogs?

Hi WS Born, not being in Camp currently, I’m not sure what the needs are. JoB, might at least have an idea of the proportion of large vs small pets there right now.

Otherwise, if you wanted to check in with one of the Pet Co-Ordinators, they could let you know.

Last I knew, “Dean” and Brian S” were the two Co-Ordinators.

    Camp Phone is: 206-450-5268

    Thanks!

    Mike

i believe there are currently more small dogs and nickelsville than large..

but there are more pets lately than i have seen before so i am pretty sure they can use anything

In camp today i was informed that they need cat harnesses… there are a lot of new cats…

and that those harnesses could be the ones made for dogs in size medium

since that is the size my shiba’s wear, it surprised me…

anyone have spare cat harnesses they could donate?

Does NV have a garden area? I have several pumpkin sprouts and I would love to take a few down for the Halloween (or after) harvest.
