OMFG,,,you are off the deep end tonight. You only listen to Fox these days it seems…and the fact that you would even intimate that he is Muslim is off the boards…what an assinine thing to say. Go to bed…get outside for the weekend…you need to clear your head.

Good for your brother…so you all got the love of money the easy way…you inherited it…?

JanS, you may not agree with it, but let’s stop pretending that the “Muslim thing” is completely made up by Fox News or based on his name or something.

This is from an MSNBC article. Even this article noted the FACT that school documents listed him as a Muslim. They didn’t dispute the documents exist, they disputed the accuracy but didn’t have any explanation why he was listed as a muslim.

Obama’s mother, divorced from Obama’s father, married a man from Indonesia named Lolo Soetoro, and the family relocated to the country from 1967-71. At first, Obama attended the Catholic school, Fransiskus Assisis, where documents showed he enrolled as a Muslim, the religion of his stepfather.

The document required that each student choose one of five state-sanctioned religions when registering – Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Catholic or Protestant. Gibbs said he wasn’t sure why the document had Obama listed as a Muslim.

Even if he was, I don’t care, he was 8-years old. I just don’t like the media’s dishonesty, or people who get all huffy puffy like it’s a baseless notion.

Ohh.fer f+&k’s sake..he’s Presbyterian. End of story. He is not Muslim, get over it. He was 8 yars old then. I put my daughter in a Christian school, and she’s an avowed athiest now. Anything to make a point, huh, JV? Stick to that right wing crazy stuff..it’ll get you far in the world.

What media was dishonest. He enrolled..his dad put something down. His dad did it, not Barack Obama.

OK, I logged in under my old name. HMC Rich

Obama ate dog. Smitty’s link was “Spot” on, albeit humorous. Mr. Obama said it in his book. He ate dog. Now if Romney had put his dog on top of the car and then went camping, killed the dog and ate it, well you might have an issue. The dog issue needs to get crated and closed.

JoB, in our lifetime the black community has been big supporters of the Democratic Party. Before the 30’s they were not. Before Wilson they had more rights. No they have not always been with the Democrats.

    TanDL…student loans…. I think you are wrong.

    http://www.mediaite.com/tv/speaker-boehner-blasts-obama-during-house-speech-%E2%80%98do-we-have-to-fight-about-everything%E2%80%99/

Maybe I misunderstood, but I don’t thinks so.

I don’t want a Cool President. I want one who is not a follower of Liberation Theology. One who does not promote class warfare. One who does not overspend. One who does not blame everyone else for his problems. One who tells us what we should do then does the exact opposite.

Obama is not a Muslim. He is sympathetic. His actions show that. He has also on occasion said some wonderful things about Christianity.

The only thing he has in his corner is the left leaning main stream media. And even some of them are starting to not always pass along Jay Carney’s propaganda.

DHG, one facet of media responsibility is to keep the politicians in line. Fortunately while some are mind numbed robots, there are various outlets that do question our leaders. And, if they ever are able to regulate the internet, our freedom of speech will disappear.

Here’s how that’s been going down HMC… Things have changed since that post and continue to change daily. Repubs were dragging their feet on the student loan rate issue and saying it would cost taxpayers too much and Obama was once again being the spendthrift President. Then Obama took to the college campuses this week and found wild support for keeping rates low, so the Repubs decided they had better get on board, what with this being an election year and all. The Senate is passing a version to lower those rates that pays for it by increasing payroll taxes on private companies and are now suddenly talking about cutting oil company subsidies to pay for it. Repubs don’t like that.

The House Repubs now say they are for keeping student loan rates low and quickly put forth their own bill to lower rates, paying for it by slashing funds from a health care provision that funds some women’s health issues as well as several others – this passed in the House yesterday. The Dems don’t like that and say this is part of the War on Women and are pushing for a veto.

That’s when Boehner exploded saying something like, My god, do we have fight over everything? Pretty funny when you think about all the fighting of everything “his” House has done since he became Speaker.

Probably nothing will change (as usual) except the rhetoric and vitriol of the politicians and blogs. This all would not have been an issue if the Stafford rates had stayed variable and tied to Market rates like they had successfully been for 40 something years, but Congress had to mess with that and got a buy-in from George W, who happily signed the bill putting Stafford rates into a fixed category, only changeable by Congressional approval. If those rates had not been messed with they would be at the lowest ever, like all interest rates these days, but noooooo…. here we are with another mess on our hands and have the past Congress and Admin to thank for it.

    HMC:

    I don’t want a Cool President.

then vote for willard, because he is most certainly not cool.

I want one who is not a follower of Liberation Theology.

you believe jesus was a supply-sider then?

One who does not promote class warfare.

the left is not promoting class warfare. we are fighting back. and the people at whose feet you worship in some vain hope that they’ll create jobs and spread some capital around hate it when we fight back.

    One who does not overspend.

    like ronald wilson reagan?

One who does not blame everyone else for his problems.

no, you just don’t like it when democrats call out republicans for their b.s. – which is free-flowing and eternal.

One who tells us what we should do then does the exact opposite.

well, i don’t know if that’s a typo or what, but maybe willard is your guy. because he will tell you one thing and then do another – while lighting cigars with hundred dollar bills.

this dog thing is hilarious, though.

so obama, a child in indonesia with a muslim father, ate dog, since it is evidently part of the local diet.

willard, a rich, adult, american dude straps a dog carrier to the roof of his car. has anyone ever asked why?

was it the smell he couldn’t abhor? was there not enough room? is he really that callous toward animals?

in any case, can you guys on the right not see how that looks in contrast?

yeah, smitty. you guys hit the jackpot here.

he went to the best school in Hawaii because Grandpa was a janitor there…

at least that’s what i remember from facts i didn’t think significant enough to take note of at the time.

and yes.. when grandpa/dad is the janitor

    that is growing up poor

he was one very lucky little boy to get those advantages

ROFLOL.. ok, i know i’m old. but I wasn’t even a twinkle in the eye of my grade school mom in 1930.

This is today. And today, the political party of choice for the black community is not Republican.

and.. if you want a president who doesn’t promote class warfare

you probably should stop supporting those guys who find new ways for the rich to put their hand in my back pocket

nothing makes people rebel faster than taking away their opportunity.

look at the world around you

opportunistic policies are what create unrest

not the guy who points out what’s happening

    JV..

I was a methodis/Pentacostal Christian (Mom was pentacostal, step dad was Methodist and the churches were kitty corner across the street… i attended the Methodist one week and the Pentacostal the next… landed more methodist than pentacostal)

before i nearly joined the Catholic Church when i had my kids and their dad was Catholic and i ended up volunteering for Catholic services..

before i flirted with the Tao, Buddism and a host of other isms.

I read Mormon books as a kid because Mom thought all written word was sacred and the mormons passed those books out for free.

I still think Muslim texts are among the most beautiful ever written and read them regularly.

As an adult, i decided that I am after all a Christian…

So.. what does that little journey through faiths make me?

When you hang labels on people you forget that life is often far more complicated than you could imagine..

especially for a little boy who was raised in more than one culture…

Well, I am reminded that there was a time he wore momma jeans with a ironed crease in them no less. And the first pitch he threw while wearing said jeans? Bounced a few feet short of the plate. Yikes!

As a result I am tempted to put him just a notch below our ray ban silver spoon President. May he rest in peace.

i am guessing the answer to that one is easy…

it was all about luggage space…

everyone knows one doesn’t put expensive luggage on the roof… it tracks all that icky bug mess into the hotel room when you stop at night ;->

Even I don’t think they threw them live into a pot of boiling water like a crab. I am sure they clubbed them on the head first, like a fish.

    Whew!

I’m glad we’ve all decided to ignore the trivial stuff and get down to the REAL issues.

For a second there, I was worried this thread might devolve into another pointless discussion of economics or foreign policy.

Okay, I’ve just skimmed through the more recent postings, since the one I made previously. So, please forgive if somebody brought this point up already, and I missed it.

Obama was a young child when he ate dog in Indonesia. You know; “You better eat everything on your plate, son, or you’ll go to bed hungry! There’s starving kids in…..” Romney was an adult, when he strapped Seamus to the top of the ol’ Mittmobile, to let him pretend he was a WWI Flying Ace.

Do I really need to explain the difference?

“Do I really need to explain the difference?”

I think someone should bring up Seamus during the debates so we can clear the air on both sides. Your explanation is perfect. Email Axlerod.

I think Obama needs to explain it just like you did – except make clear he was six when he moved there. Ten when he left. Once the cultural differences are clear even my vegetarian six year old will understand!

    Smitty..

isn’t it wonderful that you live in a culture where a six year old can make the decision to be a vegetarian…

and you are so good to help your child avoid all those nasty little pitfalls so when they grow up they too can be president of the United States..

have you considered a monastic education?

Obama’s mom made sure he got the best education she could provide…

she just missed the naming thing and the cultural diet thing and the thing that was put on the form so the kid could get into school…

and still.. in spite of all her parenting mistakes

    little Obama ended up president.

There is hope for everyone ;->

I agree with DBP. Who cares about the dog thing?

There is so much to attack Obama on, why even give that a second thought?

As for Romney, they are grasping for straws. “WELL…HE’S RICH! AND OUT OF TOUCH!!”

    On another topic…

On any thread where Romney is called “Willard” or something like that, it opens the door to call Obama “Hussein”, okay? Feel free to do it, just don’t be mad when it comes back.

Obama’s name is very fun to play with too, but we have mostly avoided that.

Willard is Romney’s first name. Hussein isn’t Obama’s first name. SAdly, there ARE people in the world that believe, since Barack Obama’s middle name is Hussein, that he is in fact Muslim now, and was born somewhere other than the good ol’ U.S. of A. There is nothing like that behind Gov. Romney’s name. Let’s not call it tit for tat…we know differently…both me and you.

Not as tough as 8 years of Bush and his cronies. They gave the good ole USA a bad name around the world. Now we can hold our heads high. I was never one to fly the American flag…didn’t even own one. After the last election I bought one and feel pretty good when I place it on my front porch and take it in at night.

Psssst. Bush isn’t running……….(thank god, yada yada yada)
