elikapekaParticipantAfter many years of limping along with our old tile sewer drain and snaking it out every so often, it appears that it’s finally collapsed. Any recommendations for someone honest and reasonable to do the replacement work? Thanks!

NativeToSeattleParticipantNot Southwest Plumbing. Installed a new clean out when there was one already and recommended replacing the line to the street for $10,000. Materials ended up costing less than $100 to replace it to the sidewalk. Older employee was very rude to the younger employee. Check BBB for ratings- that might help narrow the field.

R0b0ParticipantAffordable plumbing West Seattle gave us a very fair price and were open and honest in diagnosing the problem. It was also over the thanksgiving holiday when it is prime time for sewer clogs and they made sure to squeeze us in while they had many other calls. They kept our carpets clean inside our finished basement and were very efficient replacing the sewer line outside, getting us back to normal quickly. Their guy Chris even noticed that the installers for our washing machine had hooked up the hot and cold backwards – we had been washing stuff in hot when we meant to be using cold for over a year! No wonder my shirts kept shrinking!

elikapekaParticipantThanks for all the recommendations. Unfortunately none of the recommended companies even bothered to return our calls, so we went with another recommendation for Alki Sewer. Returned the call, came when they said they would, didn’t “upsell” the solution, and have a great crew. I’d recommend them to anyone.
