ValerieMemberHas anyone tried the “renewed” West Seattle Inn and Suites? Any other suggestions for places for family members and friends to stay nearby? My house is way too small for guests.

JimmyGMemberI don’t know what your budget is, but there’s “Villa Heidelberg” on 45th SW just west of the junction.
http://www.villaheidelberg.com is the website.

SueParticipantWhen a friend of mine came last year, she stayed downtown at The Moore Hotel – http://www.moorehotel.com/ – and really liked it. The rooms were under $100 and it was really convenient to get around from there. The rooms are very basic and functional – nothing fancy, but it was clean and the staff was very nice. It has generally good reviews on Trip Advisor as well: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g60878-d100544-Reviews-Moore_Hotel-Seattle_Washington.html

squareeyesParticipantThere’s a brief article about Seattle West Inn & Suites in the West Seattle Herald: http://www.westseattleherald.com/articles/2008/01/17/news/local_news/news01.txt
It doesn’t sound like they’ve done any upgrading yet, just separated their association with Travelodge. You might want to give them a call and ask if you can inspect a couple of rooms before you recommend them to visitors. I can’t imagine them saying no. If they do, that’s your answer.

SueParticipantSquareeyes, I’ve never had a hotel deny me the right to see a room beforehand, so that’s a good idea. When my friend wanted to stay at the Moore downtown, she asked me to check it out since it seemed like the price was too good to be true. They made me leave my drivers license at the front desk in exchange for the key, but they did let me go up and take a look.
