I wrote to Morgan Street Thriftway asking them to carry Smith Brothers milk. They considered my request and now are carrying it in their dairy case. How cool is that??

They have a section on their website

    http://www.westseattlethriftway.com

slugged something like “recently fulfilled requests,” just like what happened to you.

Some business website are fairly static but there’s lots of lively contact on the WST site worth exploring, IMO — TR

I don’t go all that far for groceries (so many already in walking distance), but I found that Thriftway’s customer service the few times I’ve gone that way has been outstanding.

You wouldn’t think it so hard to find alphabet noodles for a kid’s soup (and education and art). Met Market has a dozen kinds of lasagna noodles but no alphabet. Nothing at PCC, and no noodles at Safeway. I called QFC – no luck.

I called Thriftway and they pulled both a regular and an organic variety off the shelves to hold for me, and the customer service rep told me about a few other quality alphabet themed foods for kids.

I look forward to being a more regular customer up that way. GREAT customer service!

We have had Smith Brothers deliver milk to our house for, I think, two years. Love it. Great driver. Tasty product. You can get acidpholus 1% and they don’t use RbST. And it stays cold in the little box on our porch if we don’t bring it in the morning.

I feel the employees are rude and the prices are outrageous…….. In conclusion the “employees” there should not get an attitude or desrespect other “outside parties”…………

I have to agree with glocson on this one. Most of the time, the cashiers have an attitude. I don’t know if they are rude because I’m young or what, but they’ll be very nice to the people in front of me and have no personality by the time I get to them. I actually wrote the GM to tell him that and he was extremely nice about it. In fact, I was very impressed that he wrote me a sincere letter. It’s quite unfortunate since I live two blocks away from Thirftway. I use them for immediate needs, but usually go to Safeway to escape Thriftways’s $12.99 for a brick of Tillamook cheese along with many of the staple groceries.

I had an embarrassing thing happen to me at Thriftway not too long ago with credit cards (won’t go into detail), but the checker was extremely nice.

he could have been totally annoyed and rude and he was just a sweetheart.

I love that they sell cigars (for my guy) and they have a wonderful wine selection.

Even though we don’t live close to Thriftway, that is where we shop.

I, too, love the Thriftway. I wasn’t expecting a lot, but they have tons of good vegetarian stuff there and I’ve found all the employees to be sweet and helpful – one clued me in to the espresso bar “happy hour” from 3-5 – half price espresso drinks! Score. And it’s good coffee, too. :)

When I asked if they’d stock soynut butter they responded by carrying 4 different versions, and still do! Safeway doesn’t carry it at all; PCC and QFC only have basic one. The employees seem upbeat and helpful. Good to know about the espresso “happy hour”. Thanks, Chessa!

Just wanted to say that I love Thriftway even more than I thought possible – I requested a particular flavor of almond milk (Almond Breeze Plain Unsweetened – I swear it tastes just like skim milk!) and they got it in for me! AND they are now carrying Eco-Planet crackers, which my 2-year-old is addicted to! (They’re like the vegan version of goldfish crackers). Those crackers are super hard to find – the only place in Seattle that I know of is at Sidecar for Pigs Peace by UW, not really in the neighborhood, y’know? Now I can get them right down the street!!!

Just had to share my joy. And to say that if there is something you want them to carry, just ask! All I did was send an email, and now two of my favorite staples are there. :D

Between these reveiws and the fact that Ellenator just informed me that they carry Cider I defin. will need to check them out. Safeway isnt my favorite (they dont even care peanut sauce?!) and Met Market although nice is a bit unrealistic for daily groceries.

I am always curious about the ONE person that seems to have a bad experience at a great place…you get what you give maybe. The Thriftway is awesome, I miss the pay by touch. I loved it when I forgot my wallet.

I’m not usually opinionated about grocery stores aside from the horrible selection of music they usually play.

But I gotta say that Thriftway is the first store that I go out of my way to avoid because of their outrageous price gouging. Of course people pay it, so they continue to gouge them. I mean I can find better prices at PCC! and that’s bad.

I go to QFC, even though it’s less convenient and their music really sucks bad, but they are cheaper and same quality.
