I’m lashed out at because I state my views and opinions. You (and some others) I guess can’t handle that and are personally offended. That’s really too bad. Again, what have you contributed to this topic besides getting rude and angry?

Sorry, guys, but, yes, I will defend myself. I guess that’s a crime here. I am not self-righteous, I’m just very confidant of myself and my views and opinions. I still don’t understand why everyone is so angry!

Btw, the other two, cinnamon and lattemom, probably don’t chat anymore because everyone is so rude. Unless we think like you, you don’t like us. Is that really how you live your lives?

NewResident, I have no issues with someone speaking their mind and opinions on here. But there are different ways and intents of saying something, and that’s where the problem is. If I told you that I preferred X brand instead of Y, that’s stating my opinion. But if I were to say that someone is a moron if they don’t agree that X is better, then that’s still my opinion, but it’s inflammatory and rude. (I’m not saying you said those quotes or anything like them – I’m giving an example.)

I welcome the difference of opinion here and encourage it – we all learn from it. But if we can go back to “I” statements and not attack each other over our views/beliefs/in general, I think that everyone will be more pleasant here.

Hey, hey everyone just calm down for a minute.

One of you might get too angry and then write curse words here, and then someone might try to get you fired for swearing, and then send out invites to the party they’re having about getting you fired, and then nobody would respond to the invites and then we’d all be shown up to be the potty-mouthed ill-mannered West Seattleite liberals that Ann Coulter loves to spout off about.

Does it really matter if new resident. cinnamon and lattemom are the same person? probably not.

It’s the post you respond to more than the person.

New resident… i don’t see so many attacks. I do see a lot of people who disagree with some of the things you say and agree with others.

And that seems to bother you a lot. You are not the only one who is offended by disagreement, but you are do seem to take it more personally than some others.

After the way republicans talked about President Clinton while he was in office, it amazes me how offended some are by any criticism of President George W Bush or his policies.

After all, we are actually concerned about what this President is doing in the way of policy…

And I have to tell you, even i find comments like this one:

“Btw, JanS… you seem a little ungrateful and unhappy about the money coming to you. If it would make you feel better, I can take it off your hands!”

offensive. Jan has a perfect right to be less than positive about that “refund”.

New resdient, has it escaped your attention that what is being returned to us is our money? I don’t think any of us are unhappy to be getting some of our tax dollars back after all of the tax cuts for the rich, but it is going to take more than a one time payment to make me grateful.

With all of our changes, will be lucky this year to escape the alternative minimum tax which will pop us up into the stratasphere for tax brackets.

    Tax reform is long overdue.

And blasting someone for their opinion like that is rude.

If you don’t want people to be rude to you, don’t be rude to them.

i think we would all do well to remember that.

BTW new resident, i was the one who pointed out to house that colbert was a joke…

JimmyG…I love good discourse. But…you’re not helping anything here by claiming someone is or isn’t someone. I think that being part of the problem isn’t the answer, and you may end up driving more people away than you anticipated here. My opinion…we are all adults here. If we all felt the same way about things, life would be extremely boring indeed. That’s true in politics, in religion, in world views. So…take the high road and let’s get back to discussing ( and disagreeing on) some of the issues here.

OK..I’m stepping off my soapbox now :)

You’re correct Jan, we’re all adults here (I think).

Yet honesty is a linchpin issue with me, and if I see someone being dishonest, I’ll call them on it, not play along with their charade.

And as to the original topic I took a similar test and came up Kucinich. So much for that match, huh?

I know that my political views are probably shared by very few people (left and right wings of the same ole poor bird that’s been held captive by its master). Personally I know I have no say (and don’t care) in which aristocracy takes over at the next election. I’ll do what I must (legal and otherwise) to have a fulfilling life and not rely upon any political saviours. If I chose to not befriend those I disagree with it would be a very lonely life.

    Cheers!

That is my point, JoB. Does anyone care to tell me who I attacked where I wasn’t just defending myself after being lashed out at first? The comment to JanS was just another point to make. Sorry if offensive. I know that you pointed out that Colbert was a joke. I merely stated that I think he already knew that. He seems to be a pretty intelligent person.

JimmyG..well, I came up the same way…and, actually, I liked the man alot…he has good things to say. It’s a shame that when it comes to voting these things that people are still concerned about physical attributes…he really took a lot of heat because he’s not the super good looking stud.

When you know for a fact that someone is being dishonest, by all means call them on that if that makes you feel better. The operative word being “fact”…one should never make assumptions, it comes back to hit you in the arse sometimes :)

    not going there, doing that.

I have to tell you all that when i took that quiz, i was quite surprised that i didn’t turn out strongly in favor of hillary… i was also a kucinich fan by a huge percentage…

and my husband’s top contender was someone he had to go look up.

the difference in percentage between the two top democratic contenders in my quiz and the republicans was a lot greater than it was in house’s between his top contender and Gore … but it is still surprising how much we have in common when you look at actual issues.

that is what i liked about that quiz.. it focused on issues.

Erik, It has been a long time since we produced a candidate i felt strongly enough about to speak out … you are right, they are right and left on the same old bird.. .but for some reason i like this one.

we will see how she if she is still running after tonight:)

It’s been several days since I checked back on this one…yes, I was well aware of Colbert being a joke. I made the Daily Show reference, so I’m not sure how this was misconstrued.

Personally, I find Hillary, Obama and McCain a bigger joke than Colbert though.

I miss the good old days when Howard Stern would run.

House.. you just wanted to get a rise out of me.. yes????

and i meant by the Howard Stern joke.. not that you find Hillary, McCain and Obama a joke. of course you do.

Hey…New Res…if we’re going to get nit picky – lol..oh, heaven forbid….I think this all started when you disagreed with me about MY OPINION of Ann Coulter, and you responded with “

“For not being threatened by Ann Coulter, you sure have some mean things to say about her. To feel that much hatred for someone, you “can’t stand the woman”, you obviously are threatened! That’s so obvious, it’s funny! For example, it’s ridiculous and appalling to me that former President Clinton lied under oath and was DISBARRED, but yet he is considered by some to have been a great President! I don’t hate former President Clinton and i can actually stand him. He’s ridiculous, but kind of just a joke if you ask me. Has anyone taken the time to read the 9/11 Commission Report, by the way?

    Posted 3 days ago #”

you said that I was threatened by her ( your opinion that I disagreed with), and then talked about how much hate I must have. Again, an opinion that I disagreed with. Perhaps we should have both agreed to disagree, and let it go at that…:)

House…Howard Stern? There’s always Ralph Nader..isn’t the Green Party running him up the flagpole again?

Thanks san, don’t know how I missed that comic relief. And JimmyG I can’t remember when I laughed so hard. Totally appropriate call out. As for on topic, mine said Kucinich as well and I was surprised that Obama came out higher than Hilary.

Ok, Jan. Maybe that was a little harsh. But you and everyone else were pretty “strong” in those opinions of Ann Coulter. I think people don’t get the fact that she has a very dry sense of humor. (Not saying you, personally)

Also agree that it will take a long while to withdraw from this war, if done right. Pulling out immediately, right now, makes our Country even more vulnerable.

Oh, I miss Stern in the morning, too!
