VCAParticipantVashon Center for the Arts is a short ferry ride away from West Seattle. We are looking for a Marketing Coordinator.
Reports to: Marketing Director
Job Summary: This full time position works closely with the Marketing Director to help project manage and implement the organization’s marketing strategies, communications, and public relations activities.
Principle Accountabilities: You will assist in implementing, managing and measuring comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations for Vashon Center for the Arts. You are a generalist who welcomes challenges with a smile. You are an excellent project manager who can track an abundance of moving parts for numerous projects at once. Working closely with the Marketing Director, you will help track, manage and distribute marketing assets to promote events at the Kay White Hall. You are passionate about the arts, savvy with social media, and love engaging in creative ways on Instagram and Facebook. Using Adobe Creative Suite templates set up for you, you will update graphic assets and help create posters and graphics used in a variety of digital and print media formats. You’ll help organize bulk mailings and interface with the local Post Office staff. You’ll help build and distribute sandwich board signs around Vashon. You will help identify and interface with press/communications in Seattle, Tacoma, the East Side, and the Kitsap peninsula. You will put your writing skills towards press releases, announcements, and short and long form story-telling on our website and VCA publications that speak to all the awesome things happening around VCA – community events, Arts Ed classes, Vashon Artists in Schools programs, the Center for Dance classes and performances, and all the performing arts events at the Katherine L White Hall.
Qualifications Required: Demonstrated successful experience with project managing and a computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets and page layout. Strong oral and written communications skills. Ability to manage multiple projects at a time. Experience in marketing, communications or public relations with demonstrated success, preferably in the not-for-profit or association sector. Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, public relations preferred.

Incoming – a strategy for attracting the target audience. The key difference is that Inbound allows you to attract customers not with the next announcement of a 20% discount on all products, but with value for the customer. You increase loyalty to the company by trying to be as useful as possible to the target audience. Absolutely free. How? Through the content.
