Joe DonleyMemberHello,
I’m looking for suggestions for a good coffee shop here in West Seattle to sit and do some writing or programming on a laptop. I live down near Delridge and Holden, so preferably something near there, but a little drive would be okay.
Thanks,
Joe

B-squaredParticipantI have found that the Uptown Espresso on Delridge is nice for this sort of thing. Definitely quieter than the one on California. Kind of cavernous, which i like. I used to do homework there.

Joe DonleyMemberI will have to check it out. Too bad that it closes so early though.

JanSParticipantI think that if you want to work late into the evening, you are going to find that difficult no matter what area you’re in. Most coffee places closeup rather early, so they can be open in the early morning hours for commuters.

2krazy4wordsParticipantBird on a Wire on SW Henderson & 35th Ave SW … near Southwest Branch of Seattle Public Library. They’re back to closing at 4pm. (They tried happy hour and staying open ’til 9pm…guess it didn’t pan out as well as hoped.) Like Jan said, most coffee houses close early.
There’s also Cafe Rozella … don’t know how late they stay open, but I’m thinking it’s later because they sometimes have music (or use to) 9434 Delridge Way S.W.

wsmama3ParticipantNot a cafe – but I would highly recommended the West Seattle Office Junction (a co-working space right across the street from Rite Aid on Cali). Lovely location, space, and great people. It’s a space where everyone else is also working and you have access to support, a kitchen, a shower (if you wanted to bike in), indoor and outdoor working spaces, and a view. Best of all would be that I would not have my kids there grabbing a hot chocolate and distracting you. :)
