GinaParticipantThe fish and chips at the Marination place are really good. I miss the Alki Fish Co. tartar sauce, though. Would be a good detour along Alki stop.

JoBParticipantI saw Jan yesterday
she is ready for the never-ending process of recovery to be over…
She is in Park West .. in the front door.. down the hall to the right.. right at the end.. take the elevator to the garden level.. yes, it does work.. it’s designed to accommodate senior time and mobility.. out the door and across the hall to Jan’s room.
if you visit, don’t forget to sign in at the desk…

hi, all. It’s me, waving from what I like to call “the home”. Not *my* home, but only about 4-5 blocks away. I’m getting better. No more heart fibrillations, no more cellulitis (well, almost no more), no more surgery chest pains for the most part, so just need to get stronger, do lots of PT, and get a move on in life. I will probably be here another week or two (big sigh), but I know I’ll be leaving at some point. Looking forward to that day , for sure. In the mean time, I’m being well taken care of…

JoBParticipantdid you know that Jan has one of those good luck magic wishing pumpkins at the door of her temporary home?
i gave it a rub as i went in tonight and it must have worked because her color has improved.
ok.. so the oxygen might have had something to do with that.. she is back sipping the magic elixir until she is ambulatory enough to give the fellow down the hall a run for his money …
Jan does not like to lose.
it’s going to be a little while before she can make it up the steps to her house…
but don’t be surprised if you see her up and about before then.
just watch out for the guy down the hall.
i don’t think his wheelchair has brakes :(

Betty TMemberDon’t really know you except from the blog but been following your progress. You sound to me like a fighter. Sorry you have so much to deal with at one time. That’s not fair.
Is the food at PW any better than at Swedish? I was there for surgery several years back and felt it had a lot to be desired. I can remember way back when you got good food in hospitals. I guess that was tyhe good old ddys.

JanSParticipantwell, I have the sniffles, too…and a cough. And, after my news this morning, I’ll be here a while yet..
The cellulitis/infection/blisters that I had on my foot are starting to heal, but I will be seeing a surgeon, and there’s a good possibility that I will be back in the hospital for a skin graft. Damned side complications are starting to get to me…
