beth yockey jonesMemberHi – my husband will be having knee surgery next week, and part of his rehab is riding a stationary bike. Does anyone have one we could borrow for a few months? Or, if you have one sitting around you don’t need anymore, we’re willing to pay.
thanks!

JanSParticipantbeth…I have a recumbent bike that has become a piece of furniture in my bedroom. It’s basic, nothing fancy, it works, there is a little damage to the back of the seat where a previous owner had a cat who used it for scratching. It’s also free.If interested, email me at mmfeelgood at gmail dot com.

WorldCitizenParticipantIf you already have a bike you can go on Craigslist and do a search for bicycle trainer. They attach to the rear tires of your bike and turn it into a stationery bike. The ones made by Cycleops (and maybe a few others) don’t require electricity. I think they work with either magnets or wind resistance. Cyclists and triathletes use them to train indoors at home when it’s nasty outside.

natemacParticipantHi Beth,
We have an old stationary bike (not recumbent) that you’re welcome to have permanently. We got it free so we’d be happy to pass it along to someone else who could use it. It’s not fancy but it works just fine and would do the trick for your husband I’m sure. Just let me know if you’re interested and you can come take a look/pick it up. Thanks. You can e-mail me at jonjames100@hotmail.com. – Jon
