    jd..

but. .do most gun owners favor strong penalties for the owner of the gun that is used to commit crimes?

in this state it is legal for you to loan or give your gun to someone without first checking whether or not that person could pass a background check..

it is legal to leave your gun laying around where anyone passing can pick it up and use it.

it is legal to be irresponsible with your firearm…

as i see it, that is the point we are discussing

    First, there’s this : http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2014/11/03/3587757/online-dealers-rush-to-sell-their-guns-before-washingtonians-vote-for-background-checks/

    how irresponsible !

and this from Ohio: “Police in Lorain, Ohio are saying a three-year-old Ohio girl is in critical condition after being shot in the head by her four-year-old brother, who found a gun in a dresser. The shooting, which occurred this Sunday, reportedly happened after the two young kids were playing around when the 4 year-old brother discovered a loaded .40-caliber handgun. Even Ted Nugent will tell you that keeping an unlocked and loaded weapon in a household of young children is probably not the best idea. According to the Law Center To Prevent Gun Violence, approximately “one of three handguns is kept loaded and unlocked and most children know where their parents keep their guns.” The same study found that “73% of children under age 10 living in homes with guns reported knowing the location of their parents’ firearms, and 36% admitted they had handled the weapons.”

What is this a case of “I value my guns more than my kids”? Or..” I’m oblivious and stoopid, and simply didn’t think”? That poor 4 yo boy will know what he did for the rest of his life. As far as I’m concerned, there IS NO excuse for this. It’s been turned over to the prosecutor’s office. Will be interesting if there are any charges.

Now back to your regular lives, trying to figure out if you are for or agin’ 594….

I don’t give a rat’s behind how many guns you own…go buy 50. Just be legal, and please, please, please be responsible !
