GoGoParticipantDid anyone go to the new one on 4th Ave S yet? If so, how was it?

LSParticipantI went there on Saturday. Went too late for their “Grand Opening” festivities though.
Their prices are decent. Some items cost less than at typical grocery stores (Safeway, QFC), but some items could be had at typical stores for less if “on sale”. Plus, some items at Grocery Outlet were their own generic brand. If there are products you like from a specific brand, then they may not have it.
Good alternative to joining Costco though.

WSMomParticipantI just returned from the Grocery Outlet on 4th Ave. I’m not sure I’ll make it part of my grocery buying routine. I like buying name brand products, and many of GO’s products were brands I didn’t recognize. I did get Tropicana OJ 1/2 gal for $1.50 and that made me happy. The store is clean and the employees were friendly and helpful. Parking is easy. Grocery Outlet is just a few blocks from Big John’s PFI and not far from Costco and Cash & Carry…hitting all of those stores in one afternoon worked for me today. Now if Trader Joes went in down there too….grocery shopping nirvana :)

voodooMemberI can’t remember whether it was here or elsewhere that someone said their nickname for this store is “Gross Out”. I can’t help but think of that whenever I see that store!
I haven’t been to the new one; I visited the one up on Aurora a couple of times when we lived up north and was appalled. The whole store was littered with boxes of half-eaten food that shoppers had tampered with. I actually saw cartons of ice cream that had been opened, eaten from, and returned to the freezer. How does that happen??

JoBParticipantvoodoo..
i have never seen anything like that in Burien… or up on MLK.. but i don’t go to the one up on Aurora.
I haven’t been to the new store yet.
you would think they would all have exactly the same things.. but they don’t. i prefer MLK.
will try the new one just as soon as my energy resets. Bouncing weather isn’t good to me:(

DianeParticipantI went Saturday late afternoon; super clean, super organized; very nice staff
~
my 1st time at a GO, so explored whole store; lots of good deals
~
my favorite, 3oz Oberto beef jerky $1.49
~
2 lb bag frozen organic broccoli florets for $3; yummy
~
funniest is 4 lb bag stir fry veggies, with pic including lots of water chestnuts, mushrooms, many other veggies; ingredients list says “may contain”………list of veggies including zucchini, water chestnuts; so far haven’t found any water chestnuts or mushrooms inside; lots of yellow squash; no zucchini
~
avocados 50 cents each; sadly the first one I opened was mostly inedible, brown, stringy; 2nd one was fine
~
1 lb container fresh strawberries $1.50; look good, not very tasty, kind of hard
~
24 oz fig bars, off brand, $1.79; very good
~
pretty much all the OJ 1/2 gal was $2
