JoBParticipantJanuary 6, 2009 at 4:08 pm #653538
ErikParticipantThe coupon hasn’t been updated to WSB yet (Patrick said they were behind because of Snowopolis08′), we can go with a verbal till that happens.
For now just show up for the class. Soon I’ll be on the scheduling system for West Seattle Wellness and you’ll be able to do it online.
January 6, 2009 at 4:13 pm #653539
JoBParticipantok.. more questions.. inquiring mind you know:)
are the classes progressive? In other words.. do you need to start and stop at a particular point?
if you pick a time.. should you stick with it?
what should we wear to class?
January 6, 2009 at 4:24 pm #653540
ErikParticipantYou can start out with any of the classes, the same ideas of learning are used in all. Yes, they can be somewhat progressive…but you won’t have necessarily missed anything from an earlier class as you can glean some learning from any lesson.
I’m teaching the same lesson for the days classes, maybe with little variations on a theme. So you’re not locked into a specific time.
Wear comfortable clothes that you can lay on the floor with.
If you can bring a blanket that’s even better. I’ll have a couple with me for use.
thanks,
erik

JoBParticipantJanuary 6, 2009 at 4:36 pm #653542
ErikParticipantYoga mats work well too.
January 6, 2009 at 4:58 pm #653543
charlabobParticipantWish I could do it but I’m not ready yet — soon — and congrats on getting this up and running.
January 6, 2009 at 4:59 pm #653544
JenVMemberHi Erik – are you planning on having any classes outside of “normal” working hours?
January 6, 2009 at 5:04 pm #653545
JoBParticipantcharlabob..
i’m not ready yet either.. but am going to go and do what i can in the back of the room…
for me.. it’s a place to start… after lunch i think:)
January 6, 2009 at 7:11 pm #653546
ErikParticipantJenV – I’d like to add a couple evening classes, perhaps Thursdays?
I forgot what ‘normal’ was…lol.
January 7, 2009 at 3:47 am #653547
JoBParticipanti attended erik’s class today.. and it is as good a thing to do while you are getting ready as it is when you are ready…
and… he is ok with moms bringing kids…
i thought i was pretty aware of my body and how i was occupying the space around me.. but i learned a few things that will keep me thinking for a while and will change some not so good habits…
it’s not so much that erik teaches you body mechanics but that he coaches you to learn what is happening with your body and how to expand things you are doing right to get greater benefit.
great class! and i can see why he says it doesn’t matter when you start.
January 7, 2009 at 9:27 am #653548
JanSParticipantJoB…I’m sooo glad you went….hope it helps some :) er…a lot? ;-)
January 12, 2009 at 10:21 am #653549
ErikParticipantIf you happen to be wandering down the alley behind the Maharaja or the Matador on:
Tuesday, January 13th
and each Tuesday
9:00am
11:30am
1:45pm
Your first class is FREE!
Use the orange & blue 8limbs yoga entrance.
January 12, 2009 at 8:38 pm #653550
JanSParticipantcan we go to Maha afterwards for drink and yummy food? :)
January 13, 2009 at 5:40 am #653551
ErikParticipantJan – that sounds good.
I could do a workshop where you have a lesson, go over to the maha for a couple drinks, then come back for another lesson.
Sensing/feeling your skeleton in a slightly inebriated state is always fun too.
8-)
