flowerpetalMemberI see tonight that Jan Drago is going to announce next Tuesday that she is throwing her hat in the ring. I have been ho-hum about other candidates and their very remote chance of giving Nickels a serious run.
I’m not sure that Jan Drago can be ignored as easily. What do others think. I know that there are lots of readers here who want someone other than Mayor Nickels. Do you think Drago can win? If yes, I am curious to read your thoughts.
This election just got more interesting for me.

JoBParticipantIt did get more interesting.. but i am not sure she can win.
on the other hand.. it can’t hurt to vote for her since a vote for her isn’t likely to help anyone else.. perhaps we can promote her as the flip off candidate.. flipping off nickels:)
it might work ;->

MrJTMemberSad but true, she is the lesser of two evils…

KBearParticipantI miss Charlie Chong!

CMParticipantWe could start a write-in campaign for Charlie Chong! Wonder what would happen to our oh-so-PC city if they had to respect a “life-impaired” elected mayor?
(That’s a joke, people, but I miss Charlie, too!)

clark5080ParticipantHer problem is that she has been lock step with almost every thing Nickel’s has done. I think the T-Mobile Exec might have the best chance of winning

mrhinehMemberAnd the flip side is that she might have some very interesting insights into the mayors office that could be some great mud slinging. The Nikman could use some notching down.

flowerpetalMemberMud is never slung one way. I’m sure Councilmember Drago has her own mud to be slung. That kind of battle seems to never turn out good. Mayor Nickels does need a wake up call for sure; or notching down as you say mrhineh. I don’t know if Jan Drago can do that. If she proves to be a worthy opponent but not enough to win the election, will Nickels chest puff even larger?

mrhinehMemberWhilie I don’t think Drago has a chance in hades, I do find it interesting that an “ally” will be going up against Greg. We may already know everything Jan might bring to the table to “discredit” Nik, but there might also be a surprise here and there. I don’t expect it to help her as much as I hope it helps a more serious challenger. Nik has been pretty teflonish and resilient, but I am hoping somebody shaves him off. *sigh* doubtful

tsunaminwMemberAnother democrat Nickels clone, and much older. How about some fresh ideas from a younger more vibrant candidate rather more of the same idiocy from the same group that got us where we are now?

MrJTMemberWhoever says they are going to fire Grace Crunican gets this households vote !

mrhinehMemberIt just baffles me that Seattle cannot come up with some up and coming, qualified, serious candidates for this job. What is it with the mayors office, or is it the clash with the CC? Olympia? Can we go recruiting like SPD did in NYC? (not suggesting a NY’er, but somewhere, there has to be a pull to a city like Seattle).
