I’d swear that last year, I heard something about dogs being invited to swim at Coleman Pool on the day before the pool was emptied and cleaned for the season. At the time, my pup was still too young (I think they had to be 6 months), but we’d like to try it out this year.

I can’t seem to find anything online about this. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I really don’t think I made the whole thing up, but maybe… :)

    Hey emily –

Yes! Definitely have heard that the dogs were allowed in, but it was a couple of years ago. I think. I don’t specifically recall last year, though it might have happened. Big help, I am. ;) Anybody in the know on this dog-paddling party?

There hasn’t been a dog party at Colman in the past couple years since we’ve been covering West Seattle news – would have photographed that (plus we read the schedule for our Events Calendar) – can’t find any online reference to one that might have happened more than two or so years ago. However, Helene Madison Pool in the north end had one this afternoon, before the pool closed for its annual cleaning – TR

Do the little dogs get to use the kiddie pool? That’s where mine belong:)

I though Southwest had a dog swim before they closed for renovations. I’ll be at Colman next week I’m sure, so if I see any signs for it, I’ll post the info here.

mellaw – you’re awesome! I’d love to see the little dogs in the kiddie pool. although perhaps it should be the “kitty pool,” one of our cats loves water & I’d hate for her to feel left out. :)

hey emily! wow! i had a cat who loved water too! he used to sit in the bathtub and wait for someone to give him a bath…..i thought he was one of a kind :)
