Anyone know of a good boarding facility for large dogs in the West Seattle/Burien area? Thanks!

Hi- You should contact Darlene’s Dog House- 206-243-3359. They are great with big dogs, and your fur child won’t be locked up all day.

We love Stella Ruffington’s for our pooch. They really care about the dogs and our sometimes nervous dog just LOVES them!

If you are looking for someone to stay with your pooch in your home, I highly recommend Melanie Cease with Sit Stay-n-Play Pet Care. She was recommended to us by Burien Vet Hospital and does an amazing job! Her phone # is 206-650-5748.

I’ve really liked Hillrose Pet Resort out closer to the airport. Good rates and convenient when traveling.

Our dog was miserable when we boarded her at Hillrose. It’s not an open environment but a true kennel. When we went to pick her up, she had a bloody nose from resting her nose on the chainlink door to her kennel.

We now use Superfunhappydog because they come and pick her up and bring her back. In order to use them, you do need to take your dog out for an evaluation. She has a party out there.

Super Fun Happy Dog are fantastic, and do require an evaluation (Hey j, what’s your dog’s name?). They’re located in the Maple Valley area but pick up / drop off in West Seattle/Burien. http://www.superfunhappydog.com

They have ties to West Seattle, the owners used to live here, they started their business here and have many clients here in West Seattle.

Yo, JimmyG – what’s your dog’s name? I know a ton of the SFHD dogs and see them all the time around WS, but tend not to go over and say hi to them (though maybe I should).

I’ve taken some pictures of the SFHD dogs hope to take more over the course of the summer. My dog (Shankly) is completely tuckered out from daycare there today and could barely even get up when I arrived home.

We tried Adborable Pet Lodge in Burien afew years ago, it was nasty. dirty, dogs left in crates no daily exercise. Then we tried Pet Care Center on Avalo Way the staff was very professional and friendly. Our dog cried so loudly at Pet Care Center the police were called because her cry sounded like someone was abusing her! That said we still refer friends to Pet Care Center. And we also used West Seattle Animal Hospital they staff is great, Dr.Johnson is the best and they kept our furry friends happy, well-fed.

Yes, yes, yes to Super Fun Happy Dog! Our dog Miss Daisy Cakes goes there once a week for daycare and only boards there. Kimerley’s Shankly is her boy toy LOL.

Yes, you have to go out there for an evaluation but Robert and Tiffany are amazing. Completely worth it. I really couldn’t imagine trusting anyone else with her.

Oh and Kimberley, Daisy just looked at me on her bed when I tried to get her up after coming home Wednesday. Her and Shankly had a romping good time. Completely tuckered out! :)

I also second Stella Ruffingtons! It’s kennel free boarding and the staff is sooo great! The doggy playcare is nice too because my dog always comes home tired…
