MellyMelParticipantHi, I hope a generous WS person will help me out, a neighbor gong on 9 years.
I discovered that 5 gallon gas cans are silly expensive. So I hope to borrow two 5 gal cans for about a week.
I plan to pump out old gas from my old truck(and take it to the waste transfer for disposal) and as a step toward getting it it running again.
If you have one to loan, I would be very grateful! Private message me here and I’ll get right back to ya.

miwsParticipantMel!
No PM function here anymore, so you’ll need to provide an e-mail addy, or something.
If you aren’t comfortable with sharing your usual addy, you can create a disposable one through G-Mail, and others.
Good luck, and be safe handling that task!

wakeflood and rico, thank you *so* much for offering. Thank you, Westsiders!
Since no PM, I’ll have to ask you to email me at

so I can arrange to pick up from you and give you my info.

valvashonParticipantMellyMel: I have a hand siphon squeezy thing that you can borrow if you need that, too. It’s a cheapie- a squeezy bulb with two lengths of hose on it; I got it at Harbor Freight for a similar purpose.
All- That purpose was to, like Melly Mel, siphon old gas out. That task accomplished, I would also like to borrow a 5 gallon gas can to put gas in the tank of the car I will be trying to start. I live near Westwood Village and would be interested in borrowing the closest 5 gallon can available. My e-mail is valvashon (at) earthlink (dot) net. If one of the above posters could help me out, too, that would be much appreciated. I am able to come by anytime and pick the can up.
Thank you!
