I just wanted to pass this along. Darlene of Darlene’s Dog House past away on Tuesday in her sleep.

Don’t know much more than that. She loved all of the dogs that she babysat as if they were her own.

She was such a loving mom to all the dogs she took on… I miss her!

This is just devastating. I can’t believe she’s gone. She was an incredible woman with a heart as big as can be. Darlene was our Mara and Sam’s (and Atticus before them) mom away from mom for as long as they’ve been with us.

The other members of the Doghouse are going to try to keep the business going. If you are able and willing, I hope you’ll join me in continuing to support these wonderful people and keep Darlene’s Doghouse alive. We miss you, Darlene; you were very special to us.

Another angel amongst us. After a weekend at Darlene’s one of my dogs wanted to stay! Such a loving person. Thanks for letting us know of her passing.

There was something about Darlene that was so accessible, so giving, so kind… She made you feel like you were her good friend, even if the only times you ever saw her was when you were dropping off or picking up your dog. If your dog was part of her family, then you were part of her family.

Darlene, you are sorely missed. Daisy sends her love.

Bumping this for those who haven’t yet heard –

Darlene worked in West Seattle for many years and there are probably still folks who haven’t heard who will want to know.

Darlene’s Memorial is this afternoon Saturday (13th) from 3-6 at Life Church, 3420 SW Cloverdale.

Those closest to her have said there will be another memorial at a still to be determine later date because this is such short notice for many.
