hooper1961MemberHas anyone else been jacked for higher rates even though you signed up for a 2-year service? I received a jacked up bill that was substantially higher than it was supposed to be.
Contact with Comcast; they said I signed up for a 1 – year deal when I told them it was 2 they said no it was one. I told them to send me a copy of the agreement and then received a call a few days later that said I was correct it was a 2 – year deal.
I am wondering if it is a systematic mechanism that Comcast is doing to increase revenue? Has anyone else been jacked by Comcast XFinity?

miwsParticipantMaybe they had their engineering team do a study, and the team determined that most customers were capable of veiwing Comcast’s programming in a safe and prudent manner at higher rates?

JoBParticipantWe use dish and love it..
we pay for the top tier because that’s what holds the stations we watch… and HBO…
got DVR.. watch what we want when we want…
and they haven’t messed with my rate over 4 moves.
oh.. and it looks like maybe they will have google TV this fall

JanSParticipantI have DirecTV. I love it. I don’t have the top tier, just the basics, but I never have a problem, never lose signal, haven’t had my rates change in the 2 years that I’ve had them. My only gripe is the string of stations in the upper numbers dedicated to the bible thumpers…I don’t mind a couple…but there’s enough to count on both hands – lol…way too much for my taste.

luckymom30ParticipantWe tried Dish Network but couldn’t get reception for long, we got stuck in a 18 month contract and had more trouble then it was worth. Our neighbors also had trouble with reception. I have heard good things about Direct TV. Our rates were jacked up too via Comcast but we called them and spoke and got them to give us a good deal for another year. We have the triple play.

JanSParticipantTodd…I bundle with DSL and phone thru Qwest. I pay $59.48/mo, for their “Choice” package.

JoBParticipantours (with Dish)is a bit higher..
in the 80 range for the programming we chose…
but it includes the premium channels, HBO and two entirely separate DVR receivers.
i have seen DISH advertised for much less for the basic package..
If your neighbors have difficulty receiving DISH you aren’t likely to do much better with DIRECT since the issue is sight line to satellites… although i suppose there could be quirky circumstances that make it possible…
