ReedDogMemberI’m finally giving in and going to start paying for channels. I’ve heard bad things about all the companies and would like to avoid Comcast if possible. Does anyone in west Seattle use Dish or Centurylink for tv and internet? Thanks for any input.

JanSParticipantI use DirecTV(you can get it through Centurylink or separately). Have for years. I have no problems, get lots of channels, never have lost service like Comcast.
Oh, and there’s a referral system. If you get it via referral and tell who referred, you both get an automatic $10 bucks off a month. Refer someone else? Another 10 bucks off.You can use anyone (not necessarily me)…but I’m always open and willing to use my name :D

trickycooljParticipantA tip if your a PAC-12 sports fan, the PAC-12 network is not on DirecTV. They use NFL Sunday Ticket as leverage and say that the PAC-12 demands too much money but that’s a bunch of crap because they have other league networks. So if you are a big Husky/Cougar fan it might be a deal breaker for you. If you are a big NFL fan and not a Husky/Cougar as much, say you’d reaaaaaaly like DirecTV but really don’t want to miss Husky/Cougar games and they might give you Sunday Ticket on the house. But yeah, Husky games are the one thing that keep my finger hoovering over the button to go back to pay-tv since a lot of my friends got lured to DirecTV and no one has PAC-12 which becomes a problem come football season.

SeekingEurosParticipantI’ve been DirectTv for over a decade. Ill never go back to Comcast. Wish Seattle had serious other options.

JanSParticipanttricky…yes…that is a problem…they used to have PAC-12…or at least showed the Husky games…and then…poof ! Maybe I’ll have to start drinking again…go to a bar :D

trickycooljParticipantYeah husky games used to be on ESPN and Fox Sports until the PAC-12 got all money hungry and wanted to be like the big east coast leagues. :( My friends confronted a DirecTV guy at the Puyallup fair the first season and he promised and swore up and down they would have it by basketball season. They didn’t. This is now the 3rd season they’ve held out. Even Click! Cable (formerly known as Broadstripe) the only cable company in town that makes people wish they had Comcast has PAC-12. So we have to watch PAC-12 games at the one guy’s house with Comcast and the nationally televised ESPN games at the Directv friends’ houses. And I get the rare network games or Seahawks games. Sharing is caring! :)
