Wife and I had lunch at the new Burger Boss in White Center, on Delridge, today. Thought I’d share.

We got the Classic Cheese, a Dub C burger and small order of fries. The burgers were so-so, especially the Classic Cheese … not much there, there. Wife said it was no better than a McDonald’s cheeseburger. The Dub C was better but the meat was just okay, the pickles were good but the buns were ordinary. The fries were okay – crinkle cut and cooked fine. Bill was $9.01.

The only thing I’d go back for was the bacon sriracha dipping sauce. That was good.

No gluten-free option, by the way. Looked at us like we were nuts for asking, especially when I said “how about a lettuce wrap up”. That was a funny face. I think the giant fist on his t-shirt (their logo) wanted to punch me.

I think Zippy’s has them beat in that neck of the woods. And for us 3 or 4 other places between our house and there. Keep in mind this is early days for this place, so take my comments with a few grains of salt and, of course, try it yourself to be sure!

I agree about the cheeseburger….but..it was cheap. I had the onion rings…and they were stellar, esp. with the dipping sauce. I inquired about tables outside to sit at, was told by manager, no way, as they would then have to provide bathrooms..So..it’s OK for the concept…not everyone wants to eat in their cars, though.

Oh, and the big seller that day was the Boss Hog…mostly guys on their lunch break ordering…and they need a microphone for calling out names. People don’t pay attention.

I went there the other night because Zippy’s had already closed. My usual late-dinner choice is the taco truck next to the corn stand, but I felt like trying something different.

It wasn’t bad, and the staff were really nice, but it did make me wish Zippy’s was open after 9.

I was not impressed. Not only was the service slow, but the manager guy Mathew, who seems to work at every restaurant in ws, was laughing it up with about 5 employees while the huge line did not get served.

Tiny order of onion rings. Maybe four rings in the bag, and it was 3.50. The burger was horrible, except for the sauce. I will say their sauce is decent. Won’t get me to go back for it though.

I had such hopes for the hot dog.

    Alas..they were not realized.

I love Burger Boss, so does my S.O. Dicks doesn’t offer seating either and it hasn’t hurt their business. I love zippy’s too but it’s nice to have another option. Gluten free? Sigh. Maybe after they’re open for longer than 3 weeks they’ll offer more options.

I thought that for what it was it was totally fine. My chicken sandwich was good and it cost four bucks. Fries are obviously not hand cut but they had a nice flavored salt on them. Lastly my daughter loved the chicken nuggets which zippys doesn’t have. This is a good place when you need to grab food fast and cheap. I adore zippys and their kids eat free days but honestly 45 min for a chicken sandwich? I just don’t get it.

I’ve been there twice. Their double cheeseburgers are excellent and their heath bar shakes are awesome. Definitely not healthy fare but for a once a month treat….. oh yeah.

I think it’s very good (between good and excellent) for the price. The burgers don’t have that Zippy’s/Dick’s “flavor” (those two have different flavors, but if ya know what I mean) but … I’m pretty sure it’s because the burgers at Boss aren’t grease-laden/fatty. So cheaper + perhaps a few hundred calories lower–there’s value there.

Fries and rings also great and generous enough for me.

Nice option for that once a month “I’m passing right by” deal.

I thought the onion rings were terrific…and there were plenty in my bag…I shared. The sauce is tasty, really tasty…. My friend had an ice cream sundae and it was a nice size and looked delish. And..13 flavors of milkshake…can’t go wrong with that…so, I have to go back…to try them all – lol…

and…the day I was there…a sunny day, noon, prime lunch time…service was really quick and very friendly

Thanks for the reviews! We drive to Ballard to get a burger at Red Mill – because they’re worth the drive. I was hoping the new place was good so we didn’t have to make the drive. I guess we still do.

I love Red Mill but if you’re going to drive that far you might as well go to Zippy’s. It’s easily as good.

I had a really great time at Burger Boss. They had the honey mustard I love and my boys enjoyed their burgers and ice cream. They were super friendly and my kids keep asking when we’re going to go back.
