WesCAddleMemberYou guys are missing my point.
It seems to me that many on here see the Blue Angels and instantly turn them into a political issue. If you are against the war, then that means you should be against all things military. You need to be able to take it for what it is…entertainment. These guys are skilled aviators and the amount of practice, preparation, and dedication they commit to flying these airplanes is astounding.
In other words, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. If it is too loud for you go to Southcenter Mall or a movie for an hour. It is only 3 days, and Seafair is a tradition in Seattle that is part of what makes this city great!
(By the way, I am a democrat, as if that matters)

charlabobParticipantNice one, NR — but don’t worry — the democrats and post-democrats on these forums and in the real world (Obama) love this country as much or more as the people on any other side.
The fact is, we love it enough to fight to get it back, under quite a lot of pressure and even hatred, from the right wing cabal that’s taken over since the Reagan Revolution. When we do, it will be better for everyone. And we’ll try not to accuse the cabal of being unamerican(sic). :-)
BTW, I have a copy of the Constitution on my desk at work and its surprising and encouraging how many people stop by to look things up.
I don’t think the Blue Angels evil — now that I know they’re part of the Navy, I like them even more.

JoBParticipantWesCaddle,
i have throughly enjoyed the entertainment the blue angels have provided for me this weekend. i have been out and about for much of the last 4 days and as a result they have enlivened many a frustrating moment with both their spectacle and their noise.
i still wonder at how they can fly that fast and that close without fatal errors… they are flying acrobats… and those i knew long ago loved flying more than anything.. and i do mean anything.
they make me smile just to think of them.
and on that note, i think i am going to call it a night… and go to bed with a smile.

KenParticipantSeeing where this thread is leaning, I was reminded the other day of what I told my Brother in Law in 2002 when he was looking forward to war since he could get a promotion out of recruiting.
“I am not anti war, I am anti stupidity.” “Take out the Taliban and rebuild Afghanistan and you will do something good as well as what no army has done in modern history. Go for it. But pretending it was Iraq instead of the Saudis and the Pakistani ISI that set up 9-11 is just freakin dumb.”

AnonymousInactiveKen – I agree.
