Well they’re not local. But further to the subject line of your post, my absolute favorite chocolates to send as a thank you gift are either regular or champagne truffles by Maison du Chocolat. They’re hand-made by Robert Linxe in Paris (from carefully blended cacao) and shipped to NYC twice weekly on Air France. I don’t think I ever really tasted chocolate prior to the first time I tasted these.

I vote for Theo’s Chocolate. Go to their Fremont factory (old Redhook pub) and get some of the special chocolates…and save a little cash AND free samples…

Bakery Nouveau right here in West Seattle has wonderful handmade chocolates. The owner is an award-winning French pastry chef.

I’ve definitely given bacon caramels from the Swinery as gifts once or twice. Those Fran’s smoked salt caramel chocolates are really good too.

If you get downtown, you could check out the Chocolate Box at 108 Pine Street (near Pike Place Market). They’ve got many varieties of local chocolates and I believe they sample them there. You could put together a varied box there. While you’re there, try out the liquid chocolate. :)

Order from The C Shop in Birch Bay, WA and have them do the mailing for you. Their Peanut Butter Yummmmms are just that – extra yummy!

I love the salt caramels at Husky Deli. Don’t know if they’re local, and haven’t tried any of their other choc-bits, but oh those salt caramels are good!

I’m with the Fran’s crowd. My husband buys boxes for me at the University Village shop — not the ones stocked in some local grocery stores — and they are amazing. Dark chocolate gray-salt caramels, or some of the truffles, would make a lovely gift.

Well I like the Theo Single Malt Scotch chocolate ganaches: 4 for $11 in Fremont…

well, I’m going to shamelessly promote my own business here…I have an online candy & tea store and can send a gift anywhere you need it sent! Chocolates – Lesley’s (Bellevue/ local) chocolate bars are a nice treat to send. The Chili-caramel bar will blow your mind! I also have all kinds of caramels and brittles and tea to go along with it.

I’m local too, by the way!

    West Seattle local?

I can’t find any evidence of that on your website or FB page … domain registers to a Seatac address.

Just asking because of the “local” claim. The forum certainly doesn’t require West Seattle residency, but if you say “local” here, that would mean WS unless you explain otherwise. Thanks!

Theo Chocolates in Fremont would get my vote. Or some truffles from Bakery Nouveau on CA Ave. in West Seattle if you want something really decadent.

(drooling) Thank you! I’ll buy from several places suggested and let the recipients know they should visit each other. :) Roseburgians will be happy.
