    Hey Chris –

my guess is astrantia major, but a pic with leaves and approx. size would help.

Here’s a pic of astrantia m. in bloom – it’s one of my faves:

    That look like it?

The only other image I have it at a slightly more advanced stage. But that looks like it. Thanks so much!

From another source to whom I sent the photo link: “well, my guess would be- almost anything in the Sedum family from a ‘Roseum’ group….but what is most spectacular is this photo… It’s amazingly clear…kind of art/science all at once!”

Irukandji: You solved the mystery! The picture westseattledood referenced sure looked like it (and it was an excellent guess too considering the limited state of the blossoming image I posted). But I was sure I had nothing like that in the garden.

Then your post this morning reminded me that the blossom was indeed in one of the sedum pots. Well done. I recently had a client order a large format print of that image and could not remember what it was.

    Thank you for your help!

    I was wrong :(. Harumph.

Sedums DO make more sense. :) But, I don’t grow them. Sense of scale would have definitely helped there – buds weren’t quite right.

Glad you sussed it out though.

westseattledood: You were close though. And I still do appreciate your help. Thanks again.
