Accident investigation has the 99 N closed at the West Seattle bridge. Traffic is backing up rapidly on the bridge!

I just got an email alert on this from Metro and wondered what was going on.

“Rts 21, 54, 55, 56, 113, 120, 121, 122 & 125 are temporarily rerouted due to a blockage on the northbound Alaskan Way Viaduct. It will be closed between S Spokane St and S Royal Brougham Way. These routes will operate via 1 Ave S. No stops are missed.”

Looks like WSB is sleeping in this morning! That’s a first. Take the water taxi.

Ramp from EB West Seattle Bridge to NB 99 now open. But NB 99 remains closed for all other traffic from the south.

Looking out my office window, NB99 is nearly empty, and the WS Bridge is absolutely stopped eastbound. Go down through SW West Seattle and back around to the 1st Ave bridge if you are trying to hit 99 N. Looks like it will be significantly less painful.

It was a heavy rescue. Overturned vehicle. One lane was open by 7 am and the whole thing reopened by 7:55. Sorry to have not home-paged it.

What is this 99 N that you speak of?

I thought that this was an aqueduct or a pie-aduct or a via something….

Is this a road? Can I drive on it?

Where did this come from? Did a higher power give this to us?….

Give me a sign so I can understand….

You definitely need a sign but i don’t think you’re going to have much luck with your problem.

I caught my bus this morning at 8:15 by the water taxi and all the parking was taken. Had to turn around and park on the other side of the street near salty’s. So I think people got the message to take the water taxi this morning.
