Moving Out of State Sale – West Seattle (near High Point)
I believe my prices are all good, but all reasonable offers will be accepted.
I have pictures of all of these items and can provide more information, or come by and see for yourself. All proceeds will go to funding my cross-country trip to start a Masters in Teaching program starting in just a few weeks. I really don’t have the resources to pay for a Uhaul truck to drive there, so if you’re interested please message me.

    Panasonic Viera TC-P50V10 50” Plasma TV – $400
This was a top of the line plasma TV when I purchased it, only rivaled by the high end Pioneer plasma displays at the time. Superb black levels and excellent performance for a variety of input signals and watching movies. It’s a lengthy explanation, but this display has been essentially sitting in climate controlled storage for the past 7 years. It was used for less than a month before I abruptly left the U.S. for Japan. I took it out of the box to take some photos and to ensure it still functions 100%. Anyway, now I’m leaving the area again.

    Custom-built TV stand – Offer
I built this desk for the TV. Very sturdy, easily disassembled for moving around. I’d like to keep it, but it would be too expensive to ship. If you purchase the TV you can have it. Or a donation would be appreciated.

IKEA Twin bed (mattress, foundation, frame) – $400
This is a complete IKEA twin bed, includes a high quality latex mattress, an adjustable foundation, and the frame. This bed has been in climate controlled storage for the past 7 years. It was used for a short time before I abruptly left for Japan. And now I am leaving again. The mattress was always in a protector, inside a cloth cover which was inside the IKEA comforter cover. I believe I paid over $400 for the mattress alone. The foundation is adjustable at both ends (inclines at the head and foot of the bed), I don’t think IKEA makes these in twin size anymore. It’s in very good condition with a lot of life in it still.

MSI Z370 GAMING PRO CARBON motherboard – Brand New $160
This is brand new, never opened. It’s the MSI Performance GAMING Intel 8th Gen LGA 1151 M.2 DVI HDMI USB 3.1 Gigabit LAN SLI CFX ATX Motherboard. I was going to put a PC together and I just never got around to it.

    Acer XFA240 24″ Gaming Monitor 1920 x 1080 144hz – $190
This is the Acer XFA240 24″ Gaming Monitor 1920 x 1080 144Hz. Like new, used for about 1 month. I made sure to get this model because it works with G-SYNC. Playing games in 144Hz is really nice.

    Acer G247HYU 23.8-inch IPS WQHD (2560 x 1440) Monitor – $180
Used for about 4 months infrequently. This monitor is excellent because of the physical size and pixel density which makes for a large screen real estate. IPS panels have good color accuracy for design work.

Custom built computer desk – Offer
I built this desk for my computer. Very sturdy, easily disassembled for moving around. I’d like to keep it, but it would be too expensive to ship. If you purchase the monitors you can have it. Or a donation would be appreciated.

    Cuisinart Microwave – $50
This is like new in the original box.

I have some additional kitchen items that I need to go through, but I wanted to list the major things now. Again, if you have any need for these items please message me.

New Native: I was responding to the post prior to mine. I’m not a big truck apologist and I make no excuses for the behavior of other pillocks. I didn’t deny aa’s experience, either.

aa: oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t realize that I can’t add something else to this thread.

I’m hardly defensive. Yup, someone went screaming past you on the shoulder and flipped you the bird. It happens. It can be scary and can get the adrenaline flowing. I’m glad your heart can take it. If the cops had been there I’d be cheering and flipping my own bird.

I didn’t blame you for not including luxury cars in your rant. I inserted them into this thread. I whinged about luxury cars. Me. I did it.

You can be mad at me for this though; I ride a loud motorcycle. I ride two loud motorcycles. I can set off car alarms with them and I ride them early in the morning to get to work. I ride them faster than I probably should and I’ve even done some lane splitting in my time. I like to balance that, though against the number of people that have tried to kill me on the road. Like the lady that decided she, and her Buick, wanted to share my lane with me on I-5. I was right next to her. I knocked on her window. After all, it’s not like I had anywhere to go.

WE are talking about scary and/or irksome road incidents right? Not feelings?

    Hi Also John,
The $80 that me and others have mentioned is the (average–based on median home value) increase this measure would cost. Two older levies are expiring, which cost about $170 a year. The new one is $250 a year so the difference (increase) is 80 bucks.
Here is a link to a Seattle Times article about the whole thing: https://tinyurl.com/ycmq22y2

    skeeter..
we lost imoto over a year ago to cancer and yuki is approaching his final days so he doesn’t feel the loss of being able to walk in our city’s parks as much as i do… so i no longer have as much opportunity to speak out.. except to the people who pass my front gate with their unleashed animals..

this is a huge problem. i am not sure i will go back to the parks once he is gone.. i am not as steady as i once was and friends who are falling aren’t faring so well these days :( I can’t easily recover from being knocked over any more.

but this isn’t just about those of us who are knocked over or bitten by other people’s unleashed dogs… it’s about the dogs too. I still drive past more than one of our city’s parks and often have to slam on my brakes to avoid a dog who has darted into the roadway…

walking your pet unleashed is not doing them any favors.. you may want to run free but when your pet does so they are likely to encounter dangers you didn’t anticipate… with fatal consequences.

Well.. we seem to have found the hot button issue.. who would have thought it would be me?

i seldom post here any more.. not because i want to avoid the name calling.. i am pretty good at deflecting that.. like a water on a duck… but because i find most of the current posts pretty danged boring.

    yup.. boring.

so how i could possibly be the ..what was it someone called me? … West Seattle Blog Illuminati.. my very presence ruined their day?

    really dude.. or dudette..
if the fact that i exist ruins your day you really need to get a life..

    may i suggest watching ducks?
water literally rolls right off their backs… and they are local so you wouldn’t have to go far to find them.

and yes… for those that might wonder.. i am being polite … but not as a polite f.. you.. just a polite reminder that the rules of this forum prohibit that kind of personal insult

as an insult this doesn’t even reach the standard of reporting to the moderators … let alone a f.. you .. even one delivered ever so politely.

Now Y’all have a nice day.
and you might want to batten down the hatches. it’s supposed to get windy out there.

I too am tired of finding their butts in my yard, even causing small fires in the lawn at times.  And…

Just last night I returned home from a trip visiting relatives.

One stay was with family that smoke in the house and now EVERYTHING I had with me contains the stench of their cigarettes; slippers, suitcase and laptop satchel, ALL my clothes and couple of hats. The worst of all was sitting in the airport and on the plane having to smell that nastiness in the cloths I was wearing. I couldn’t escape it!!

Right after taking my seat I offered an apology to those on either side of me in case they too were going to be bothered by the offensive odor.

After arriving home and loving-up the cat, my sole focus was to wash all my cloths and set everything else out on the deck to air-out overnight. Checking on the outside items this morning was a drag, as soon as I opened the back door I was smacked in the nose by the lingering yuckiness that I’ll have to figure-out some was of getting rid of…any suggestions?

    PLEASE?!!!!!

Today one of those things nobody want to have happen happened to me. When i went to my local drugstore to make a purchase my debit card was declined. I immediately called and found that there had been a fraud alert. Some time in the wee hours of the morning someone had tried to make 3 purchases totalling about $1500. One of those purchase attempts was at paypal which requires the 3 digit security code from the back of your card to process transactions.

I mention this because it means that it is highly unlikely that i was the victim of a card scanner.. as they are unable to scan the old school printed number from the back. So.. it’s likely my card number was lifted somewhere where i had given the card to a person and they had processed it and given it back to me.

I thought back where i had used my card in the last week or so where it would be possible for someone to copy my code.. and came up with only one purchase.. the one i made at the drive thru at the local KFC in White Center.

I know.. I know.. but the prices had apparently changed on the item i was purchasing and they didn’t give me a total when i ordered and i found myself a couple of dollars short at the window and i was very tired which is why i was ordering lunch at the drive thru in the first place:(

So after dealing with my debit card company and verifying that i could pick up a new card at a local branch this afternoon.. i stopped to let the manager at the KFC know what had occurred … so if they had a problem they could fix it.

I thought it was the decent thing to do. … But thus begins my rant.

The gentleman who answered the door told me there was no manager on duty and there would be no manager on duty until one o’clock and i should come back later. After explaining to him why i wanted to see a manager and repeatedly using the phrase “i wanted to give them a heads up that they might have a problem… He wouldn’t give me a time or the name of the manager or even the store phone number.

So, I left. And i called back at 11AM after they had opened and asked to speak to the floor manager.. who turned out to be the same man i had talked with that morning. I know that because when asked he admitted that he had been the person to talk to me.

Again, he refused to give me the name of the store manager and this time told me to call back tomorrow.. When pressed he agreed to take my name and phone number to pass along to his manager and then put me on hold.

When the phone was picked back up, the person on the other end was the cashier that had taken my card the day before.. and she proceeded to interrogate me about what was charged and where and what for. I answered her questions and then she told me that i had to be mistaken it couldn’t possibly be any of the employees at that store.. and accused me of accusing her of theft. Again.. i repeatedly used the phrase “i want to give a heads up to the manager that they might have a problem”… after several minutes she did take my name and phone number and told me she would give the information to the manager when she came in.. at 1.

My only negative comment to her was on closing.. and i told her she had a very bad attitude.

I called the again at roughly 2PM and someone who said they were the manager when i asked to speak to the manager answered the phone. She did not give me her name. I used exactly the same language. I told her i was reasonably certain that this is where my card had been compromised and why. I told her that i had only called to give her a heads up so that if there was a problem it could be dealt with.

She proceeded to tell me how she didn’t appreciate someone calling and accusing her employees of theft I told her i had not done that and that i wasn’t asking for anything more from her but the courtesy of listening to me.

She told me she would call her manager (again without identifying them) and did not thank me for calling. I told her that after contacting the store and her employees 3 times to do the store the favor of letting them know they might have a problem.. i was not impressed with her reaction and that was no way to get a good review. She hung up.

I met a friend for a late lunch after going downtown to my local bank.. yup.. downtown.. and she suggested i try contacting the district supervisor as i was pretty certain at this point after being basically stonewalled by three different employees that my concerns were not being taken seriously.

So.. this evening i flipped through websites (one phone number listed for customer complaints connected me with some phone chat service with the best guys and gals) I finally found a customer service number that connected me with a human being.

He wouldn’t give the name of the district manager or contact information either but he did listen to my tale and take the information and promise that someone would call me from the district office.

    We will see.

I am not holding my breath and i am no longer patronizing that KFC.

and yes, in the interests of fairness I will let you know if i hear from them.
