May not be quite the selection you’re looking for but Kelly Paper just off East Marginal Way has some of that stuff. Been a customer for small purchases for years and like the service/people there.

I know it’s not the same as walking around the store but you can still get their stuff online. http://www.Pkgspec.com

Also, I imagine NW Art and Frame carries a lot of ribbon and cello bags. And there’s a shop on Roosevelt / 95th that sells all sorts of baking and candy making supplies It’s worth a trip even if you don’t find what you are looking for!

Tuff Shed is probably the leader in this category. Home Depot sells them, but I don’t know about installation. If you order through TS online, installation is included in the price (I think)- which also gives you the option to customize.

Help! Our sports equipment, gardening tools, seasonal clothes, my deceased mother-in-law’s heirlooms, etc. feel like they’re suffocating us and our small 2 bedroom home and we desperately need to store them somewhere else. I’d like to have a small back yard shed built and I’m crossing my fingers it’ll give us room to breathe again. It doesn’t need to be fancy. Even something from Home Depot is fine, but would appreciate any recommendations of anyone who could install it or build/install.

For away games we like to go to either West Seattle Brewing, on Fauntleroy near Alki Lumber and the Starbucks drivethrough (and Buddha Ruksa). Or Beveridge Place Pub in Morgan Junction. For Western Conference finals first leg (in Houston) we watched at WS Brewing and had a grand time. It’s small but the screens are beautiful and sound is adequate. I’d get there eaaaaaaarly, tho! #defendourcup

pennidogg – Thanks! I had no idea there was a store in Redmond. I wouldn’t mind making the trek there once a year.

Melissa – I don’t know about Glerup Rever, I’ll check it out. Thanks!

It depends on the quantity, but Glerup Revere in South Park has wonderful packaging.

Paper Zone is long gone. Packaging specialties was my go to for the products you are looking for. You can still travel to Redmond if you want. Impress in the University District was another idea I had but not sure if you will find all that you need. Another idea is Paper Source again in UVillage, Queen Anne and Bellevue but you may not find all you need.

I love this place. It’s clean, welcoming, the food is absolutely delicious, and the staff are outstanding. Be sure to check out the fridge, where homemade salads and sauces are offered. The owner is always extremely gracious and accommodating, but I’m very impressed with the handsome young Turkish gentleman who appears to be second in command. I’m sorry I don’t know his name, but I so appreciate his generosity in sharing with me his history and culture – including Anatolian pop music! He even wrote up a play list for me. I’m so glad they opened a sit-down restaurant in addition to the truck. I’m getting too old for stand-up meals, and if it weren’t for the restaurant I wouldn’t have been able to get to know these lovely people.

There’s a list of housing resources on South Seattle College’s website.

My friend told me about an app on there called RentHoop – Roommate Finder. It’s mostly students and I think it’s free for download on their website for RentHoop.com

Are you a family member of an older man driving a smallish white SUV/wagon on Genesee Hill? There was a kid in the back who wasn’t on a seat belt and the man was going about 15 mph east on Charlestown. Driving VERY hesitantly. I turned so lost track of him, but tried to find him to call his license plate in.

    He shouldn’t be driving!!

Somebody that is asking for cash is not a scammer, regardless of what they are saying. They are simply asking for cash. the fact that she actually had a gas can and accepted gas is further evidence that she had a legitimate need. It’s nice there are people out there that will help.

Yes, She approached me at Metropolitan Market and had one child with her -about 6 or 7 years old. She said she ran out of gas. I told her, I don’t have cash but can get her some gas if she had a gas can in the car which she said she did. I asked her to come to the gas station by Safeway with her can. She came there with the car and I told her to pump her gas. She was very polite and asked how much she could pump. I told her to keep going and when it came to about $8.45 cents I told her she could stop. There was another boy and a baby in the car. After going home, I felt bad for not giving her more gas and thought of her for the next 3-4 days. She genuinely needs some help and I still hate to say she is a scammer-especially when she is walking around for gas money. Looks like sometimes she gets money, sometimes gas, sometimes none of those -so she keeps trying to get either money or gas. I do wish there is some help for people like that without having to go to the extra length of finding an excuse to get those few bucks.

To all that shop in the Admiral Safeway/Metropolitan Market shopping area,

I recently was at the gas station next to Metropolitan Market when a women and child, about 30-35 age range, came up to me saying she had just run out of gas and needed a few dollars to get her and her child home. I did not have any cash on me so was unable to give her any.

Today I spoke to a co-worker of mine who recently moved to the neighboorhood and he told me about her coming up to him yesterday with the same request.

This woman is very convincing, but she is scamming that general area of parking lots in Admiral so please be warned NOT to give her any money as her story is not true.
