Topic: Fitness 19 gym
I went by Fitness 19 today to check out space and their “Limited time offer” of $15/mo.
There is a $75 enrollment fee and after 2 months you will also be a charged a $55 Annual fee this is on top of the $15/mo fee. Was told after the special rate the monthly fee will be $19/mo.
But he also said the rate is MOnth to month and Not guaranteed to be $15/mo as they have the right to raise the rate at any time though he also said they have no intention to raise the rate but if that’s the case Why can’t they guarantee In Writing that the rate will not increase for the first year. When someone Says, “They have no intention” that really means nothing, as far as I’m concerned, I like things in writing.
He also said they hope to open somewhere between end of November to Early December.Topic: The Future of Learning
Greetings from Tilden School in West Seattle!
My name is Dr. Jorge Olaf Nelson and I am truly honored to have recently been selected to lead Tilden as the new Head of School there. After living and leading U.S.-accredited K-12 international schools overseas for more than three decades, it is lovely to be back home and leading such an amazing school as Tilden. Though I am new to West Seattle, I am blessed to be a dyed-in-the-wool Washingtonian – born and raised here – and I call the PNW my home.
Please stop by for a coffee and conversation. I welcome the opportunity to get to know the greater West Seattle community and share thoughts about The Future of Learning. Call Tilden at 206-938-4628 for an appointment to chat. Thank you in advance for your kind consideration and support of Tilden School and learning in West Seattle.
Warmly,
Jorge

Today while on my daily walks around the Delridge playing fields which is under a remodel ,I noticed a mechanical pulling device attached to one of the flood light poles and it had a concrete block suspended .
The metal electrical junction box was therefore exposed . I also noticed a few other junction boxes exposed. Spoke to the general contractor whom removed device . Called Seattle parks . checked the location tonight so far the nothing has been done to stop someone from opening electrical covers and stealing cables

I had to replace all four wheels on my BMW due to hitting the hole in the on-ramp to highway 99 northbound. I tried to recover the cost from WSDOT but they seem to have a loophole that allows them to not be responsible. I am looking to collect information from others to see if other cars were damaged and when.
Also: Did anyone report this to WSDOT? And whenTopic: Brown Water
Hello,
I live at 53rd and Admiral and we have brown water (again!) This is the 4th or 5th time we’ve had brown water since the beginning of June. Each time I’ve spoken to Seattle Public Utilities about it they say it’s the fire department testing hydrants. I don’t get why they’re testing the same ones over and over.
Just a heads up to neighbors.
Thanks,
SabrinaTopic: Living space…
Hello, I’m Deirdre, looking for leads and recommendations for finding a living space in WS. I’m moving over from Port Townsend, w/flexible timing, ideally between July 15-Aug. 15. I’m 42, female, artsy, work in not-for-profit, have excellent credit and plentiful character references. Seeking a situation where a little gardening could be available, easy access to transit–and where my past rental scenarios of yurts, tiny home, and co-living (meaning no 3-year record of consecutive leases as property mgmt. companies often want) won’t be held against me. I’d prefer a solo space, but glad to live with another if the fit was comfortable. I also have handy-skills I could bring to the table, if a property owner wanted to consider some amount of trade! I can be reached at:971-712-8855.

Seattle does not have enough tennis courts for the 3.5 million residents who live here and now Pickleball has convinced Parks to get lines striped on many of the tennis courts to make them dual purpose. This has exacerbated the lack of tennis courts problem exponentially and has created conflict between the tennis players and pickleball players. We need to stop adding Pickleball lines to tennis courts and instead build new tennis courts in Seattle and also build dedicated pickleball courts in different areas away from the tennis courts. A proposal has been brought forth to put pickleball lines on half of the 10 tennis courts at Lower Woodland in Seattle. This proposal must be rejected outright. The city should use the $100k+ it receives from reservations for outdoor courts to resurface the Lower Woodland tennis courts as dedicated tennis courts. Please sign this petition if you agree. Only public opinion and outcry can make a difference and action is needed now.
Why is this important?
Tennis as a sport is growing in popularity and the public needs dedicated spaces to play. Pickleball is a very different activity and has significant noise also involved. Seattle residents deserve to have dedicated tennis and pickleball spaces that are updated and the existing tennis courts should not be striped for pickleball. For our population we are already over 200 tennis courts short and we need the city to help us build more tennis courts and not take them away. This sport helps build community and offers a great way to socialize and be physically active for all ages and abilities. It is becoming much more diverse and accessible and we need the city to support tennis and dedicated spaces for it and not make them dual purpose.Posting for a reader;

Hello West Seattle! After much consideration, I have decided it’s time for a change of neighborhoods. The West Seattle bridge back and functioning makes this an easier decision. I am not in a rush, Sept/Oct move-in would work great.
Seattle native, I have lived in the Ballard/Crownhill neighborhood for the past 30+ years. I have owned 2 different homes and for the last 10 years I have been a renter, I am very responsible and respectful of others’ property.
I am also a local small business owner for over 24 years, very responsible, a good communicator, solid credit score, and am very financially responsible. I am a senior (young 65) and a nonsmoker of anything, nothing more than a beer on occasion but rare to be honest.
What I am hoping to find is a rental close to the North Admiral neighborhood so I can live a bit closer to my wonderful best friend and girlfriend of 9 years.
I have never lived in an apartment and really would prefer to find a detached ADU/MIL or affordable small home.
One bedroom is fine, the use of some garage space would be really appreciated. I am open of course to a townhouse or condo if it is somewhat peaceful. Here are my hopeful top tens
*$2000 ish or less base rent
*Clean, easy-access home, secure space
*enough room in the house for a Peloton exercise bicycle
*spot for outdoor grill
*big enough bedroom for King size bed
*some garage space
*washer/dryer/dishwasher in the house
*Close to 800+ sq feet
*Some fenced yard space, willing to maintain
*Ability to have my senior part-time dog (under 20lbs) sleep over once or twice a week. Sometimes I may need to dog sit for up to 2 weeks at a time.
*good water pressure
*off street parking for mid-sized SUVMy no list would be
*no shared space
*no big party neighbors
*not on busy main streetsPlease let me know if you have or know of a great new home for me. I look forward to joining the West Seattle community

revad2@gmail.comMy son found a leather “Puerto Rico” wallet with a debit card and a small bit of cash on the Lafayette playground this weekend. We checked in with the school this morning and she is not a student at Lafayette. The name on the card is Mya Elliott. We’d love to get it back to her if anyone knows her.
