The ordinance proposal “to remove barriers to the creation of backyard cottages…” (Municipal codes Sections 23.04.041, 23.44.041, and 23.84A.032) deserves a thorough media exposure. It entails the destruction of single family zoning. It will allow BOTH attached dwelling units AND detached dwelling units plus the existing single family home on the same single lot. It eliminates any requirement for off street parking. It, in fact, turns every single family zoned lot into a lot zoned for a triplex with no off street parking, even in non-transit areas. It also reduces the owner occupancy requirement to only the first year after the units are added and no longer requires a 50% ownership. This would allow developers to make one tenant a .00001 % owner for a year, immediately converting it to defacto all rental housing, and permanently rental with no owner occupant after that. This is exactly what the Mayor said was off the table.
The city is attempting to hide this in what they make sound like a simple noncontroversial policy change to help with creating what used to be thought of as mother in law units. These changes are a complete give away to the developers and the end of true single family zoning in all areas of Seattle.

West Seattle residentThis is a great recliner…I’m downsizing/simplifying, and it just takes up too much room. I don’t use it…is here because I needed it to recover from multiple surgeries. It reclines, and it can help stand you up ( a friend said it was like levitating – lol.) Works great. Also has a side pocket for books, glasses, magazines, the electric controller, which is attached.. When I used it I would put sheets on it…cover up with sheet and blanket…good for sleeping. I’m in the Admiral District near Safeway. It’s heavy…definitely a two person job moving it, as I am on the second floor, no elevator, and I can’t help…disabled here. Need it gone ASAP. Prefer cash, but I do have capabilities for CC.debit card (sole proprietor of home business). No checks. contact me at mmfeelgood@gmail dot com
am having difficulty posting pictures…it’s an oh, so lovely, neutral beige in color…email me and I’ll send pics to you. Thanks :)

Looking for free horse or chicken manure (garbage can or two full)? I am fine with shoveling it into cans. West Seattle or Bellevue locations are fine. Only just starting my search!
I need someone to cut my lawn about every two weeks or so depending on the weather/rate of growth. I found someone here on the blog about four years ago–a college student. He did an excellent job and then moved out of state. His father actually took on the project until this spring. He had to stop after he sold his van and could no longer haul the equipment. That would be ideal—to find a similar situation. I would prefer not to have a landscaping crew. They tend to be pricey and I am on a budget.
.
The yard is not that big, but it’s two levels and there are some steps to negotiate getting to the back. I am in Gatewood and looking for a responsible person who cares about what they are doing. For the past three months I had another yard man who got too busy with bigger projects and had to drop me. With all the rain lately, I am going to need someone soon. Hopefully someone here knows a person that they could recommend. If you need to respond privately, then I can furnish an email. Thanks, ~z

More about Pecos Pit Bar-B-Que:
Pecos Pit Bar-B-Que Restaurants trace their roots to 1980 when Ron & Debra Wise opened Pecos Pit Bar-B-Que in Seattle, WA on 1st Avenue South. They served two essential ingredients to their customers, warm welcomes and smoked meats. Their delicious alder smoked, slow roasted beef and pork soon became legendary. Their habit-forming slow cooked sandwiches with piles of meat and an addicting sauce became wildly acclaimed. The sauce alone was a real point of distinction, separating those who stood in line by how daring they would be. “Mild” for those sanely enjoying the meat, “Medium”, which to most is adventurously hot, and “Hot” for those who don’t mind their hair on fire. Three heats, only one sauce. It became known as “The Only Sauce”. Pecos Pit humbly began in an old open-air gas station—stand in line in rain or shine or don’t bother. And line up they did. Devoted men and women in everything from hard hats to suits have come for years to get their Pecos fix. This humble beginning started a Northwest born obsession for barbeque that Seattleites have never gotten over, nor have those who visited. What’s Next?
So now after 36 years of having a single Pecos Pit Bar-B-Que location, Ron and Debra Wise have teamed up with Gerry Kingen to share their iconic Seattle jewel with the rest of the world, starting with West Seattle this coming spring It will open at the corner of 35th Ave SW and Fauntleroy Way SW in the former Yasuko’s Teriyaki location, across from Taco Time. The West Seattle location will feature indoor seating, and an outdoor deck as well as a handy drive through. The new Pecos locations will serve the same famous Pecos Pit BBQ found on 1st Avenue for decades, along with some new habit forming options. Offerings include our traditional pork, beef, and chicken sandwiches in a decidedly sloppy style, plus beef brisket, and hot links, with prices ranging from $7.75 to $9.50. You can add hot links; just say “spike it”, as well as bleu cheese, sharp cheddar, smoked bacon, cole slaw, pickles, extras sauce and onions. New variations include stuffed smoked potatoes (sweet or russet) for around $8, and a “Walkabouts Bowl” filled with the meat of your choice plus cheese, cold slaw and sauce. We serve healthy salads made with your choice of smoked meat, or have it veggie style, with baby kale, olives, tomatoes, cowboy caviar, cheddar cheese, and blue cheese or ranch dressing. You can even buy bulk, smoked meats including Pecos pork, beef brisket, turkey legs, and smoked chicken ranging from $7.95 to $14.95 per pound. Word has it that the rum runners are hard at work vying for moonshine and libation offerings. Stand by for whispers on this one.
Kingen is planning on opening a number of company owned locations locally and will expand nationally to share our delicious Pecos Pit Bar-B-Que with hungry customers across the country.
