In reply to: Michael Moore in praise of Trump???
JoBParticipantredblack..
you aren’t hearing me.
i don’t believe we ever had to hold our noses
i believe we had the best possible candidate to actually begin to accomplish our political goalsno..she wouldn’t have been able to deliver everything and more
nobody could
but she could have delivered enough to turn the tideinstead we get Trump.. which has loosed a sea of bullies.. not just here on the forum but out in the world.
yesterday i was sitting in a drive through when a decently dressed man in a Trump hat walked up to my car and thrust his arm through my window pointing his finger like a gun and said bang.. he then said that he could have killed me if he wanted to.
i was shocked..
and so was he when he realized that there was a dog in the car about to bite the hand he stuck in my face…but that didn’t stop him from winking lewdly and strutting away when he was able to pull his arm out unharmed.
Now.. you know me to be a Hillary supporter.. but there was nothing in my car or on my person that would indicate that i was anything other than an older woman… i don’t even drive an electric car or a hybrid… there is nothing about me sitting in that car to single me out as anything other than a vulnerable woman… an easy target.
the man was not drunk and he didn’t exhibit any signs of a mental disorder.. he was just a bully.. and he saw a woman (like Hillary) and he was going to show her…
I really honestly thought that at my age i was done with this kind of physical intimidation from bullies.. but i guess not.
to make it worse.. the man who was standing not 6 feet away and witnessed the entire incident shrugged his shoulders and gave me one of those sorry but what could i do looks and walked away.
This is not the America i fought so hard for…
but it is the one I have been forced to deal with…and for some of us it’s more dangerous than others.
i had a car and a dog between me an this bully… He didn’t have a weapon… but it could easily have been much worse and any woman who isn’t aware of that is naive at best.It didn’t have to be like this and as far as i am concerned there is no real excuse for it.
And to be perfectly honest. i am not so willing to go above and beyond any more to help those who should have had my back and found every excuse not to.
lessons not learned are repeated and i see no evidence that any lesson has been earned here.
at least not one that will keep this same scenario from repeating itself endlessly.i told you so.. months ago.. but it doesn’t really give me much comfort to be right
November 11, 2016 at 11:36 am #864478JoBParticipantCaptain Dave..
somebody you know and think is super duper said that Ben Carson is a really smart businessman so everything he says must make sense and if I can’t get it i must simply be too stupid?LOL.. here we go again.. with the somebody says it and i want to believe it so it’s true
this emperor has no clothes
but that’s ok.. you won’t either once they get through with you so we will all be nakedit’s going to take a whole lot of illusions to cover that ;-)
November 11, 2016 at 10:38 am #864465JTBParticipantcD, Can we assume by your silence that you now realize your comments about Ben Carson reflected your lack of understanding about the actual roll of the Surgeon General?
Since you were engaged in an exchange with KBear about racism and made references to the egalitarian nature of the Constitution, I thought it would be helpful to point out that many of Trump’s supporters decry that inclusive posture of the Framers.
My sources? I assume you are aware of the roll of Steve Bannon as Trump’s campaign CEO and his tilt of Breitbart.com to a decidedly racist slant? No? Perhaps if you look into the views espoused by Milo Yiannopoulos who Bannon gave an editor slot you will what I mean. Bannon is reportedly under consideration for Chief of Staff.
It’s surely not news to you that Trump has been enthusiastically embraced by the Alt Right crowd?
But explicitly on the Alt Right condemnation of an overly egalitarian US Constitution, I’ll point you to
-
Waking Up From the American Dream
by Gregory Hood, with a fawning forward by the noted Antisemite, Kevin MacDonald. Hoods writes for Counter-Currents, North American New Right.
Finally, have you considered the careful Antisemitic angle in Trump’s last television commercial or is it just coincidence that the faces of Janet Yelin, Lloyd Finkbein, and George Soros appear as the speaker warns about the “global special interests” who “control the level of power in Washington?”
Do I think Trump has detailed an explicitly racist agenda? No of course, not, and that’s not what I said is it? I made reference to what is recognized as a prominent, influential sector of his base as explicitly opposing the inclusive aspects of the US Constitution. But you know that’s what I said, don’t you. Perhaps if your reading was more diverse you’d have been more aware of those references. Watch out for the bubble.

November 11, 2016 at 8:57 am #864448captainDaveParticipantmostlycynical: November 8th was “D-Day” for the progressive left. The “progressive” movement is over. It’s going to take some time for liberals to understand this and accept the gravity of their situation. Liberals have been recklessly living an unsustainable fantasy that increasingly depended on the subversion, oppression, enslavement and deaths of too many other people here and around the globe.
Today on Veterans Day, we honor the millions who fought for our freedom to experiment with different styles of governance. It was their efforts that gave the people of this country the ability to prevail against the tyranny of the leftist agenda. However, we have only won a battle, and not the war. There is a lot of work to do in educating and enlightening the victims of systematic institutional brainwashing that has been occurring for last half century.
November 10, 2016 at 9:50 pm #864388captainDaveParticipantKBear: Where did I say I believe in lawless government? If I did, I would have voted to for Hillary. I believe in law and order. Where do you see Trump advocating for treatment of criminals differently based on race? Sounds like you are angry at a corrupt bureaucracy that is dominated by Demecrat appointees and leftist activist judges. So am I.
November 10, 2016 at 9:36 pm #864385captainDaveParticipantJTB: You sound like a lunatic who has only read a very narrow spectrum of political propaganda. It would be like me saying that all democrats are influenced by the Black Panthers. I know of no such agenda in Trump’s campain for which can espouse your claims. I am only half European so I think I would be shooting myself in the foot if your claim were true. Please provide credible links to information that support your assertion.
November 10, 2016 at 9:28 pm #864382JKBParticipantKbear, I have two basic points here: the arrogance of presuming to judge, and the extremity of extending a judgment to all the offender’s supporters.
So an old discussion like the ‘all lives matter’ one: your opinion proves that it’s what you believe, not that there’s any solid fact being nailed down.
And a newer theme: how Trump’s questionable comments reflect on his supporters. Your comments claim that fifty million voters are racists. Yep, that’s what you said. Pretty extreme, or at least it seems that way to me.
November 10, 2016 at 9:20 pm #864381captainDaveParticipantredblack: Sorry for micro-aggression offense. Should I give you a day of safe-space before responding?, or perhaps a big box and a bunch of bubble wrap? Where is the racism? Perhaps there is a new definition of racism that I am not aware of? Can you explain why you think all races should not be considered equal in the US? I just want a government that follows the constitution.
November 10, 2016 at 9:08 pm #864379JTBParticipantCD, it’s obvious you are unaware of the authority and responsibilities of the Surgeon General, unless you are thinking it would be good if all health care providers were pulled into the Public Health Services over which he has some authority. Otherwise, the SG has no legislative authority.
I haven’t followed your exchange with KBear other than to notice your closing comment in 864369 above. A criticism of the US Constitution by an influential segment of Trump supporters, the Alt Right crowd, believe it was a huge mistake by the Founding Fathers to not be explicit that the enumerated rights were assumed to apply exclusively to Northern European males. In their view, it was the failure to do so as led to this current state of affairs where the rights of citizenship has been extended to all sorts of less capable and therefore less qualified people. It’s their intention to remedy that error. Where are you concerning the rights of citizenship for Jews, Italian Americans, Japanese Americans, Chinese Americans, African Americans. etc.?
November 10, 2016 at 9:02 pm #864375captainDaveParticipantJoB: Mishandling classified information and lying under oath at a congressional herring is a crime unless you redefine the word “crime” to not include breaking criminal laws.
Since Hillary will no longer have control over the AG, then they will be free to investigate and prosecute on whatever charges. I have a lot more faith in the law without the Clinton mob having top-down influence.
November 10, 2016 at 8:48 pm #864370redblackParticipantdave: that last sentence was offensive on a few different levels.
you really should simply let everyone think you’re a fool before opening your mouth and removing all doubt.
oh, noes! was that a personal insult?
at least i didn’t broad-brush a huge swath of the voting public in one fell, racist swoop…

November 10, 2016 at 8:38 pm #864369captainDaveParticipantJoB: A friend of mine had known Ben Carson and highly respected his business acumen when he was on the board of Costco. My friend was one of the most highly respected business people in the Northwest during the 70’s 80’s and 90’s who pioneered a lot of employee-centric programs that became the model for many successful companies here. You probably don’t understand Carson’s writings because he is operating several levels above our mutual capability–I was just fortunate to have some experience working with people like him in my past. Carson is one of the most intelligent, fairest and compassionate people who have ever run for president. He’s just not the kind of street fighter that was needed to beat the nasty tactics used by the left. I hope Carson ends up being the Surgeon General who will fix help Americas failing medical system–I don’t think there would be a finer person for the job because he is not bestowed to the insurance or pharmaceutical industry.
KBear: Trump supporters are racist because they believe all individuals matter? Then do you believe that the Bill of Rights and the US Constitution is racist because it was drafted for “We the People” instead of “We the Black People”?
November 10, 2016 at 8:23 pm #864365In reply to: Michael Moore in praise of Trump???
redblackParticipanti’m sad, too, jo. but please read my words. i don’t blame HRC. i blame the DNC for playing the RNC/big money game, and playing win-at-all-costs.
we, as democrats, shouldn’t have to hold our noses. republicans do that. i mean, the “party of family values” just nominated and elected a man with children from three different wives, FFS. there’s nothing wrong with that, of course, unless you’re a sanctimonious a$#&%*!
we should put up our strongest candidates first, regardless of how much money they funnel to DNC leadership, unions, CNN, comcast/MSNBC, or how long they’ve been “waiting their turn.”
we need to tell joe scarborough and his bosses that we don’t need to do that, and that if they want to interview our candidates, they’re going to do it for free – or we’ll find a way to get our message out without them.
i’m sorry that you feel the need to check out. i really hope that you don’t, and that we can turn this to our advantage by showing big media why it’s so f$#&k!g wrong that that clown was allowed to advance as far as he did. and by exposing why trump’s malleable “values” are contradictory to well over half of his supporters’ values. and i think that deep down in the places they don’t like to talk about at cocktail parties, republican rank and file know that.
we sure as hell don’t need to emulate or compete with that moral bankruptcy.

November 10, 2016 at 5:55 pm #864338In reply to: Michael Moore in praise of Trump???
JoBParticipantredblack.. and that is what lost the election..
buying into the “it’s Hillary” game …
yes. i will vote for her but i will hold my nose.. not terrifically inspiring…we could have all pulled behind her candidacy months ago
instead we got Trump.i would have thought those who called themselves liberals would get the hint..
movements don’t produce anything without opportunity… and too many just dumped opportunity because they didn’t get the candidate of their choice.too much to walk back after the primaries… and too little enthusiasm for actually doing so…
and this is the result…outcome matters and in this case the trickle down from this outcome is likely to matter even to those best placed to ride this Presidency out…
No matter what else happens we have lost the support of the Supreme Court. We have a voting system in which the exit polls and the vote counts don’t match except for those states that have mail in voting… where voter suppression is the norm.. and political power in the hands of those who have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo..
we have lost the opportunity to turn back the clock on Citizen’s United and it’s highly likely that Roe vs Wade will be challenged and likely overturned in the face of all of the state laws now restricting not only the right to abortion but a woman’s access to birth control.
we have lost the opportunity to finally legalize the status of women’s equality in the United States.. not to mention the precarious status of gay and transgender rights.
And you think this is because Hillary won the Democratic nomination? It’s all her fault?
Nope.. sorry. I don’t buy it
Concentrating focus on the personal antipathy towards our candidate instead of on the actual issues lost this election…
equating the democratic party with the republican party as though there was no real difference lost this election…
rationalizing if we can’t have everything we want we will pick up our marbles and go home lost this election.
and Trump is the result.
btw RedBlack.. please don’t take this as a personal tirade against you even though you are the one who made the statement and who i aimed the reply to..
In my own house my “better half” made disparaging remarks about Hillary talking as though she was the worst thing that could possibly happen to our country until the day of the election and cast his vote for Jill Stein.
to say he was not pleased with the outcome of the election is an understatement.. but I am pretty sure he still doesn’t see that he and people like him who couldn’t let go of their personal antipathy towards her is what lost this election…
there was no reasoning past that wall of “she…..” no matter how unfounded the charge was…Blaming Hillary for the campaign of slander that has been waged against her since she refused to bake cookies may be a popular pastime.. but it sure was’t productive.
She remains the most qualified candidate we could have fielded to actually enact some of the progressive legislation everyone said they wanted.. unless of course it was enacted by her.
I am an exceedingly sad woman this week.. and likely to give up my lifetime of political activism in the wake of this election. That so many could throw so much away for so little reason is more than i can handle both intellectually and emotionally… i just don’t think i have what it takes to start over in a worse position than that where i began.. 50 years ago.

November 10, 2016 at 4:55 pm #864327redblackParticipantmostlycynical: welcome to WSB forums. hopefully you live on the peninsula with all us liberals and aren’t posting from waziristan or something.
ahh, SCOTUS. yay. now maybe we’ll be even more citizens united-y.
i doubt they’ll take away a woman’s right to not let you know what goes on during her medical visits. by law, it’s no one else’s business. and it seems like a pretty libertarian notion, doesn’t it? not prying into someone else’s medical business based on a third party’s religious beliefs?
by the way, do you find it ironic that people who pride themselves on “constitutional government” won’t give obama’s SCOTUS nominees fair hearings?
fortunately, most jurists aren’t as reactionary as the corporate “legislators” who approve them.
at least now maybe conservatives will stop wetting themselves over gun ownership.
November 10, 2016 at 4:26 pm #864314redblackParticipantbetty, you don’t have the first clue what you’re talking about.
some time ago, someone convinced you that some of your fellow hard-working americans are socialists. they also convinced you that socialism, fascism, naziism, and authoritarianism amount to the same thing.
you’re wrong on both counts, and i can’t argue from a position that i don’t believe, no matter how much you want or need to see me as The Enemy.
kinda orwellian, if you ask me. i doubt you’re curious enough to ask me, though.
everyone else who thinks that i’ve called other posters names needs to quote it or shut the hell up. i can’t speak for others, but i’d rather debate issues. preferably with facts and numbers, and not insults to my intelligence.
“liberalism is a mental disorder?” whoever is rude enough to say something like that in a neighborhood forum doesn’t need me to insult him.
i freely admit to calling your candidates reprehensible, but i try not to get personal – unless i’m provoked on a personal level.
November 10, 2016 at 1:49 pm #864290JanSParticipantam sitting here giggling…Betty 453 called out the “nasty” stuff said by the “liberals” on here. Capt. Dave calls “liberalism” amental disorder…and you guys think you’re effing superior? Do you listen to yourselves? Do you read what you type back, and effing think before you post your hateful rhetoric? Do you ever wonder why people don’t like you, and argue with you? This is what I see. A friend of a close friend, a businesswoman, who, I assume is smart enough to run a business, said to me last night, when I said that HRC won the popular vote, that that was all a lie, no matter the media source. That the NYT, Washington Post, LA Times, whatever it was, even the Wall Street Journal, were all printing propaganda about it because they were all run by George Soros, and he’s in constant contact with HRC. That the popular vote was a landslide for Trump…but could not show one source that said that. The hatred , the sheer, I’ll believe anything about HRC, no matter what it is, is astounding. You all, dear Capt. talk about the other side this way, but get rankled if it’s returned and resort to name calling, even accusing us of being sick in the head…and in the next damned breath want those who didn’t vote for your savior to come together with you for the effing “greater good”? That we need to unite with you and move forward? HaH! And you say it with a straight effing face thinking that, oh, poor us, we have to be nice now? As someone said to me yesterday…what this election will do is create “solidarity”. We will not walk away, and we will not give up on each other or this country But support you? Deluded. Oh…and…mid terms. If he screws as many people as he says he will by the “big change” (maybe even you two, Betty and Dave), we will know within the next two years. Do not delude yourselves that the other side will just put their/our tails between our legs, and run off like the losers you think we are.
Hope you enjoy the fraud trial in December…my god, if HRC had won, and she was going to be on trial before even inauguration day, your damned heads would explode.
Instead of gloating , take your sorry asses out in the world and make a difference.

November 9, 2016 at 9:42 pm #864215Betty453ParticipantThank you for that. Seriously !
Because believe me History is definitely on the side of the ” Pro-Government ” world view.
Because the other end of the spectrum from ” Pro-Government ‘ is ” Freedom ” and that is any leftists NIGHTMARE.
I wonder why the VERY first thing that any ” Pro-Government ” ie. Totalitarian system does is Immediately silence its critics or even potential criticism which means No More freedom of the press.
and lets compare the horrific crimes of the 20th century. Would you list those crimes ( Genocide, War, Imprisonment , brain washing, etc..) as being committed under ” Pro ” or ” Anti ” Government scenarios ?
Exactly !Since I am sure your a Huge ” Bernie” supporter..?
How about a little later we have a discussion about the latest examples of successful socialist regimes.
Of course we will exclude Greece and VenezuelaI will probably be a pretty short discussion ?

federally, it’s all about the electoral college.
and we voted for forward thrust 3 and quite a few tax increases.
y’all should move to swing states. or indiana. i hear the real estate is cheap and taxes are low.

redblackParticipantagreed, but…
i think that bus lane violators on westbound alaska street into the junction are far more troubling.
love ’em or hate ’em, the lines are there, and drivers who ignore them are engaging in some really reckless, stupid, and unpredictable driving behavior.
please, knock it off. make your political statements in ways that cannot cause carnage.
November 9, 2016 at 8:16 pm #864197Betty453ParticipantWow.. I Love it. !
But, i have to disagree with ” HelperMonk ” . i don’t think ” CaptainDave ” is gloating at all.
BUT… I certainly AM ! GLOATING ! Gloating my A– Off ! Jumping up and down for joy at the Absolute and Complete Trouncing that the Honorable and our Brand New PRESIDENT Trump put on the ” Nasty One ” last night. But , I do have to admit I am extremely Entertained by the Laughable Tantrums i am seeing on TV right now by whiney Dem’s running around downtown swearing and crying like ….Well .. Like Democrats !! Like ONLY Democrats can do. In fact you guys have this whining like Bit–‘s thing down PAT ! But Practice makes perfect RIGHT . Just think how good you will be by the end of Trump’s ( 8 ) Years ? In Fact, i will bet that there will be many BEST SELLING Books , Manuels and Manifesto’s on the ” Art of the Protest ” authored by Democrats by the time Trump’s Reign is finished.
Just imagine what the Democrats would be saying right now if Republicans were Protesting Downtown like upset children if GOD FORBID the ” Robot Felon ” Hillary had been elected. ? But, all we can do is Imagine because… Well.. IT AIN’T HAPPNIN ! BAM !
Oh.. and thank you for that because if it wasn’t for the Corrupt and Sad Democratic party nominating such a nauseating Felon like ” Hitlerry ” The Honorable Mr. Trump not only wouldn’t be The PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES ( DAMN that sounds good doesn’t it ? ) but the Honorable Mr. Trump wouldn’t have Complete Control of the House and the Senate and would not be able to shape the Supreme Court for the next Generation or two ? Yup, Let THAT sink in for a minute …..
Not since 1928 has a Republican President had control of the House and the Senate and who is the President you bestow that honor on ? Who..? . Yup.. say it with me PRESIDENT DONALD J TRUMP !
I think that ” HaterMonk’s ” panties are getting all wadded so I have a call into” HuggerMonk ” and ” LoverMonk ” for help so they will make it through the night. ? A little bit of Hug’s and Luv’s and some warm milk and ” HackerMonk ” will be sleeping more soundly than Hillary in a Cell Block . Ouch ! Too Soon ?I REALLY hope I don’t sound like I am Laughing Hysterically at the Pathetic Campaign and Historically Corrupt Criminal Nominee you Democrats tossed into the Ring of History.
But… I AM !!
Oh.. and a Special Shout Out to one of my Favorite’s ” JOB ” . LOVE YOU !
