that would probably be right , along West Marginal to Harbor Island. I grew up with trains nearby, don’t mind them, find them comforting in the middle of the night. I know some people despise them. I’m in the Admiral District, and sometimes can hear the sea lions from the sound barking, too…amazing how much sound carries

Was thinking, I can help with some immediate kitchen stuff. Nothing fancy, but would get you through until you could start assembling your kitchen again. Extra cups, glasses, some plates…I have a Black and Decker food processor you could use. If you sharpen them, I have a few knives. They are old and not expensive, but still serviceable. Some baking things too. I have a couple of outdoor chairs that you could use inside. They have cushions.

Might be worth the money to call a hazmat cleaning service.

Just the very thought of his name induces laughter from within, recalling all the funny-ness he had shared with the world.

And as a 12 year-old boy I got to hear him thank me by name on TV for the $10 pledge I phoned-in during one of his MANY annual MD Telethons, a very proud moment for me indeed!!! And actually received a ‘thank you’ note acknowledging their receipt of my cash donation.

Think I’ll cue-up a movie or two of his tonight.

I would like to think that here we would act more like Boston in dealing with this sort of situation. And let me state my personal belief right up front for those in our community who might disagree. I will absolutely defend the right to free speech, even when I have utter contempt for a speaker’s words but I will not remain silent in the face of what I view as contemptible free speech, for I also have the right to speak freely. I believe that you DO NOT have the right to terrorize/frighten people, you shouldn’t have the right to carry intimidating weapons in your demonstration of free speech and I really chafe at the idea of anyone waving a Nazi flag. The world stopped that despicable movement of hate and slaughter in the 1940s and it appalls me that it is being defended or even tolerated anywhere in our country. Our fathers, grandfathers and great grandfathers gave their lives to rid the world of that evil and we shouldn’t have to deal with that again. Ever! I like that those with torches who marched around a Charlottesville church filled with people attending a worship service were called out online and shamed. That was utterly despicable. Good people everywhere need to stand up and say “no, this will not be allowed to take hold in our country.” And leaders who promote, slyly dismiss or turn a blind eye to this kind of hate and intolerance should be thrown out of their leadership. Hats off to Boston! I salute you!

    Hello,

We are looking for a sitter starting this Fall 2017 to help with my 2 daughters for before school care. We have one daughter who will be in 1st grade, and our other who will be attending preschool.

We are looking for help in the mornings starting at/around 7a-930a. The work would primarily include providing breakfast, dressing, and then transporting my 4 year old to preschool. My 6 year old will take the bus to school so she just needs to be assisted to the bus stop.

Ideally the candidate would be available 3-5 days per week (Mon-Fri), specifics will be discussed at interview meeting. We are also flexible in adapting to afternoon care for some days rather than mornings.

This would be perfect for a part-time/online student or someone looking for very part time work.

Must be able to drive. Please reach out to me specifically at laceymonda@yahoo.com or by phone at 360-961-2355. We can arrange a meeting to discuss the job in further detail.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words, Sonny!

No, we didn’t meet. I just appreciate the “neighborly” tone of your postings here, the fact that you kept the glasses at $10.00 even as they were becoming more “valuable”, and how you kept everyone updated on the progress of the deliveries to you, as well as when/where you’d be selling each time.

As a professional pedestrian, that uses a cane when out and about, I especially appreciated your ask that your customers not block the sidewalk!

Now, hit the road, get to your viewing spot in Oregon, and enjoy yourself! I think I was hearing as far back as Thursday that the traffic was already getting wild!

It happened. Kindly refrain from passing judgment about how I could have prevented it, or how I could have done more as a homeowner to deter the activity. It happened, and now I’m picking up the pieces.

I was out of town this week. My condominium was robbed/vandalized while I was away. Moreover, it was an all-out orgy while I was gone. I came home to used prophylactics strewn all around the condo on the carpet, all my belongings were taken (two Bose stereo systems, an imported espresso machine from Sicily, my industrial grade Kitchen Aid stand mixer, clothes if you can believe it), broken dishes, stolen checks, expensive Wüsthof knife set gone, flat-screen television set on the ground and smashed to bits. Biohazard bodily fluids everywhere, empty bottles of personal lubricant cast about. Don’t forget the drug paraphernalia, used hypodermic needles, cigarettes burned into the carpet, suspicious “stains” on the furniture and more.

    They left the Bible.

The carpet and bed will most definitely need to be replaced immediately. I cannot sleep in a bed with used underwear and condom wrappers all over the place. There are broken/spilled ball-point pens in the carpet and such. I began cleaning after the Seattle Police Department came and issued a report. I called my insurance company and filed a claim. I’ve done all the right things and am done beating myself up. The claims adjuster will be out Monday.

I spoke with a gentleman at Home Depot tonight because I need my carpet replaced IMMEDIATELY. He indicated that it would be AT LEAST six weeks before it could be completed. I cannot wait that long. Is there a reputable company within West Seattle who can come over, measure, and take my carpet replacement order in warp-speed? Please help.

    Thanks.

If they arrive on time we plan on selling them in the park across the street from the Alaska Junction Qfc at 42nd SW &SW Alaska at 930 am Saturday. Line starts at the bottom of the ramp, up towards the sidewalk and up the hill. Please be kind to each other and let pedestrians by on the sidewalk.

To be fair to everyone we’re still only charging $10 cash each, first come first served. With that in mind, talk with your family, friends, and neighbors to make sure you are going to get enough since some of your people won’t be able to get there themselves. We’re not limiting number of glasses, buying a bunch for others is great, but please don’t buy to resell at a crazy price. Be there at 930 because they will go fast and this is the absolute last of the eclipse glasses we will get!
