I was a 10+ year comcast customer and switched to the same CL plan you mentioned last year. I work from home a lot and need the high speeds and it works great. I have never had an outage.

You won’t get the actual 940Mb unless you are ethernet connected directly to the router but my average speed is in the 600-700Mb range.

Small West Seattle-based, eco-focused, residential painting and general contracting company (in business for 42 years) has an opening for a laborer, and a project/field manager.

Experience preferred, though willing to train the right individual.

Prefer that applicant has transportation, though exceptions are possible depending on where applicant resides. Presently, our team members live in West Seattle, Burien, and SeaTac. Our office is in Burien.

Position is part/full time seasonal, or full time year-round, depending upon applicant’s experience/abilities.

I have CL fiber and live a bit west of the Jct. It works great! I’ve had only one outage due to a piece of equipment failing at the NOC. I have the 40Mb plan and it’s more than sufficient to stream on to computers.

I highly recommend Pep Boys. I’ve been there three times with three different cars. They have been courteous, explained things carefully to me, and had the work done exactly when they said they would. Twice they didn’t charge me! Was there last week and they have excellent COVID-19 safety measures in place.

It takes the right team to ensure a top notch company and MoxyJo’s House Cleaning is in search of a dynamic, high spirited, independent person to be a part of the team!

The dream of MoxyJo’s owner and operator, Joanna Hall has always been to create a work environment that is quite rare for the blue-collar work force in our society. As a team we are not only striving to change the face of housecleaning but also create a company culture that has every need of all staff in mind. It really is no mystery that if you take care of your employees you in turn get quality work, dependability and reliability. As an employee if you feel taken care of by the company that you work for, your quality of life is greatly improved. It’s a win-win for everyone. The way we do this so far is with competitive pay, birthdays off, monthly MoxyJo’s dinners or days out, weekly breakfast during meetings, snacks and drinks provided for the day ahead, flexibility in the hours and days the employees need, and once a month massage for full time employees. Speaking of full time, we only require our employees to clean 30 hours a week to qualify as full time. We know this is hard work and its hard on the body. We don’t believe in over-working and over-stressing our team. We have much more in the works to make this one of the best blue-collar jobs around. MoxyJos.com/careers

Would love to go to DT/Chinatown but pain the A**& to get there now.
Maybe should not replace the bridge, makes WSeattle an island with rows of palm and coconut trees.
Less pollution, quiet place and less crowded.
Block all access to W.Seattle like they did to Key West

Went to Menchie’s West Seattle on Monday evening, June 1st, 2020. Employee behind register refused to wear protective mask. She stated she was not required to. I refused to pay. Pretty sure any food service employee is required to have protective wear. I would not recommend visiting this business until after owner gets this under control or vaccine developed.

aa. I live on Alki. When I walk in the morning I would say maybe 25% wear masks. However it’s easy to maintain 6′ and most people are good about moving over. In the afternoon when I walk, from the bathhouse west maybe 10% wear masks but it’s been fairly easy to keep 6′ from somebody. Have noticed the park dept “minders” are NOT into their jobs. Lat week went by 2 of them walking side by side with their masks pulled down so they could talk with each other.

    Hi Amber,
While I would not be able to provide legal services or advice, I am happy to have a few consultations with you to see what I can do to help you. Unfortunately, I do not have any legal contacts, but I can be on deck to help with the project of shutting down your downtown location and what needs to be done to focus on your West Seattle location. (I’m happy to hear that you are able to keep the W. Seattle one open. I love that place!). My expertise is in Financial and HR areas, but Project Management is Project Management.

There is a lot of work involved with determining the steps you need to take, keeping track of the legal items, and making sure that the tasks get done. Something that you don’t have time to do! I’m about to move closer to your location (within walking distance) and I am happy to meet with you via video conference or six feet with a mask. Your choice :)

Hey there- I would be interested in receiving some insight about the direction that my business will be going. I’m not sure if project management is the route I need, but you never know:). I’m mainly interested in some legal advice due to needing to shut down my downtown business while maintaining and focusing on my West Seattle location. Regardless, it would be helpful to hear ideas and suggestions based on your career insight. Let me know if you are interested. At the very least, maybe you could help point me to the right location based on contacts that you know and your experience with small businesses. This is truly an amazing gift you are offering small businesses and I thank you for that! I certainly could offer some trade opportunities:). Amber

I am a fellow West Seattleite and I am looking to help out the local small businesses and non-profits in my community who are struggling. I would like to offer free consultant services to a business that is in need of someone to organize the projects they have or just to consult on best practices. My mission is to help businesses and non-profits who cannot afford professional project management services (and I get to help the community I love grow. Win-win!)

My objective is to meet with the business to determine the scale of their needs and determine if they need someone to lead a portfolio of projects, one or two projects, or just help organize their projects for easy execution (by either me or themselves – depending on the work involved since I currently work as a Project Manager). We can then agree on the time frame of services and the expectations of how many hours per week. Also, you may not even know what you need and I can listen and guide you to your best options.

On Monday, my 9-year-old chalked a message on the sidewalk outside of our home near California & Andover. Today, for the first time in our long sidewalk chalk history, SOMEBODY SCRUBBED THE MESSAGE OFF OF THE SIDEWALK!

No, this was not just some non-specific joy-hater. The colorful graphic my son chalked nearby was untouched. Only the message of support for our black community (and all who protest systemic racist violence and oppression) was erased.

I know that racism lives everywhere but I will admit I expected more from our community. We will be back out there today, chalk in hand. I invite all of the people in West Seattle who believe racism or bigotry of any kind has no place in our community to do the same.

DISCLAIMER: This post is not about my daughter’s chalk art. If that is our biggest woe, I’ll count us lucky. This is about the people hiding in our community who are so confident and convicted in their hate that they will take the time to scrub out another person’s voice

With a bridge closed, I’m having difficulty getting to Virginia Mason to do the post-surgical bloodwork draw that I need to do every few weeks. It’s critical that I get these labs done for my doctor to review how I’m doing. The last few times I have gone to Virginia Mason, via the 1st Avenue bridge, I have experienced heavy traffic, even with the pandemic. I have to do these labs early in the morning, so always during rush hour. Does anyone know of a LabCorp type lab in W Seattle? Google turned up nada. Looks like one used to be in Westwood? But no more? Thank you.

Hi Hannah, sorry for the late reply. I’ve been so busy taking care of my daughter (and enjoying it), I forgot that I had posted this! I am still in need, though, and quite flexible. It would be great to see if we can work something out. This is my first time posting in this forum, so I’m not sure how to proceed. You can call me 206-439-6845. This is my land line.

I found out my basement flooded Saturday evening, I spend most of Sunday cleaning up and hauling stuff out that needed to be disposed of.

I got to the South Transfer Station to find that it is closed Sunday – Tuesday. Now I have a car full of debris that needs to go. Are there any other options for disposing of stuff like this when the Transfer Station is closed?

As someone who works full time, this is really difficult. I don’t want to pull everything out and have to reload the car again later.

    Thanks!

Dogs are the avatar of evil in this world, eh? Doubtful.

My dog doesn’t drive a car, engage in deforestation, damaging wetlands for the sake of earning a few more dollars or anything else.

I, on the other hand, drive a diesel pickup, have motorcycle for fun, work in a steel mill and consume to products of agribusiness.

I make it sounds worse than it is to make a point, before you feel smug. People are responsible for ecological damage. If dogs are perceived as predators that’s because they are. But they aren’t able to engage in the mass killings that humans are capable of.

So, dogs aren’t the problem, Merilieu, you are…as are the rest of us and, as such we are responsible for limiting our impact.

Recommendations, please! Really simple job. Need a new kitchen faucet installed. Straightforward, nothing unusual about this job. Would prefer an individual over a company (I know O’Neil and other companies are great but this is just so small that it is hardly worth their time. $$$).

I normally would use Joe The Plumber for a job like this but his website says he won’t be working for the next month.
