Bella Mente Early Learning in West Seattle is looking for a co-teacher for our Adventure classroom.
Our adventure classroom serves children approximately 2.5 years old. We have a 1:8 ratio with a max of 16 children per day. This is typically where potty training is a main priority throughout their day and we focus on getting children ready to move up to our older preschool classrooms. This age group uses parallel play as they play alongside their friends and then transition into associative play towards the end of their time in this class. This shift from playing next to your friends versus with your friends takes mastery in a variety of skills. We focus much of our time on awareness on how we are feeling and how others are feeling too. This social emotional foundation sets the tone for the collaborative play of their older peers. On a daily basis we use our play to work on letter and number mastery, sensory exploration, fine motor skills, imaginary play, outside large motor, long term project work, and creative expression through art.
This position will be Monday-Friday 8:30-5:30
We have created an environment where children feel secure and confident and are treated as proficient individuals who are capable of communicating and problem solving and who want to be a part of their own learning.
Our teachers are competent leaders who participate in the overall development of our school. Our classrooms work individually to develop curriculum around the interests, inquiries, and identities of the children and teacher that they serve. We want to bring in teachers who can help us in continuing to grow toward what our intended vision is for our school.
Details: PTO accrued, medical benefits available for 32+ hours per week and paid holidays. Pay DOE. We support working parents in all ways! Please reach out if you are a teacher with young children as well. Another benefit is being able to have your children at our school with you!
If you are a responsible, reflective, collaborative, and compassionate individual, we would love for you to reach out.

206-321-6448Topic: Illegal Dumping
A short time ago, I caught someone in the act of dumping their household garbage (a stepladder, dog dishes, cabinet doors, cleaning supplies) next to my driveway. He leaped in his van and sped off as I came out of my gate and yelled at him. I live on a corner, so this dumping business happens with some regularity, unfortunately, meaning I’m constantly either having to either pick up somebody else’s trash, or calling the CSB to report the illegal dumping. They’re pretty good about picking it up, but that’s not the point. It’s rude, irresponsible, and illegal, and I’m sick and tired of it. Scrawny little white dude with long black hair, who drives a maroon/reddish colored van with plates beginning with CHP. Be a man instead of a rodent.

Topic: Free houseplants!
I have 2 very long pothos plants that my cats want to eat so unfortunately I am going to get rid of them. Free to a good home! I also have a smaller pothos plant and another plant that was just called “houseplant” when I bought it at home depot a few years ago.
All are free. Here is a link to pictures of the plants.
Pick up in West Seattle.Topic: Pegasus Pizza Questions
We miss Pegasus but hesitate to return until we have assurance that they have done right by their previous employees. The last post about Pegasus Pizza returning in the Junction was full of stuff about that didn’t answer this one question, and I’m not finding it anywhere.
Pegasus had _our_ favorite pizza. I know that everybody has their personal favorite pizza and their own opinions, including missing Lee’s Asian. *This question is not about any of that.* We want to go back and simply won’t until we have assurance that they corrected their past practices. That’s all I’m looking for here.
Does anybody know if the previously unpaid employees were made whole? We’re willing to return in that case. We’re not into permanently canceling anybody for screwing up in the past, short of grievous bodily harm. I’m interested in factual evidence of the status of complaints against Pegasus Pizza for non-payment of employees.
Many thanks!
A LOT of Girl/Young/Adult women clothing, purses, shoes size 8,8.5,9. Name brands like Nordstrom, North face, Abercrombie, Brandy Melville, Anthropology, some vintage and designer, many items new with tags, WSHS logo clothing, luggage, orange curtains, navy dining chairs, books, desk, home decor.
Rain CancelsLooking for someone who loves to run and loves to talk about running. You don’t need anything but a passion for the sport, we will teach you everything else. A retail background would be great, but it isn’t necessary. Your job will be to sell shoes and apparel, stock shelves, keep the store clean, and help customers find the right product. Be able to start and hold a conversation, as that is basic skill for sales. Shy, wall flower types will probably not like the atmosphere, as we are a talkative, engaging group that likes customer interactions.
We are looking for someone to work Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and maybe one other day if you want it. Pay starts at $20.00 but is negotiable based on experience. We also offer bonuses based on store sales. PTO accumulation starts the day you start. We also have an employee discount, and a separate family discount. Free race entries for all races we sponsor, and it’s a pretty cool atmosphere to work in, as most customers are happy to be here. Please drop off a resume in person at the store. We do not respond to emailed resumes unless we have directed you to send it.
If you have questions, please drop in and ask them.
Topic: Magazine salesman
Just had an unpleasant encounter with a young man at the door. I said I wasn’t interested and tried to hand back his material. He wouldn’t take it so I set it on the chair outside the door. He snatched it and shouted obscenities as he walked away. I went on my deck to see him knock at the neighbors and he yelled at me. (Neighbors not home. Fauntleroy near ferry dock.) Just a warning. Tall, blond.
