JiggersMemberEven God himself said he would go for a scoop of ice cream at Husky if they were opened later on Sunday because after all, he works all day Sunday, and at the end of his day, he’s craving for some good homemade Husky chocolate. But then again, I’m Agnostic so what do I know.

GenHillOneParticipantHancock has someone they work with – I watched them connect a customer with her via phone once (hurry before they close!). Also, Authentic Home did them through their old location and assuming that only their storefront has changed, they would be a good resource too.

jMemberShanti used to be Carlin. I have had a facial several times from Cali. Last summer I went there for a facial and they didn’t have air conditioning (perhaps broken?). It was unbearable, so I haven’t been back since.

Know somebody here? Or close by?
As always, thanks

MrJTMemberHi funnygirl,
On recommendation of our architect, we just used Continental Surveying. They did a complete survey, including topography, for what I thought was a reasonable rate. Their offices are in Greenwood not West Seattle.

If ya’ have a taste for Lee’s fine Asian fusion, I think they are open a bit later than some other places on a Sunday.
And now there is the new Olympia Pizza on Delridge – they deliver! Can’t get any lazier than that, I don’t think. ;)
I stopped in their last week – HUMONGOUS 1/2 salads like you wouldn’t believe. But, they have a huge selection of greek/italian food if you have a need for carbs. :) They have a website. It was on the WSB front page last week.

missaudreyhorneParticipantIt seems A LOT of businesses in West Seattle are closed or close really early on Sundays. I sleep late on Sunday, guys…where’s a girl to eat her lazy late dinner? Is everyone too tired from church? :)
May 21, 2008 at 11:26 pm #624865charlabobParticipantActually, I think they’ll remember “charla” — and Mary (the owner) remembered my name from the blog — do we think that’s good??? Idunnoooo. :-)

Bikefor1MemberWhatever happened with the legislation that was going to make Web Based Music stations pay more in Royalties? It threatened to close sites like Pandora. I thought it passed, yet Pandora is still on.
(I’m a Pandora fan too)

I forgot about the water taxi!!!! Doh! Not having to park in the market is too much to resist. I haven’t taken the taxi yet, but now I will for sure. Woo Hoo!!

JeraldParticipantThe great thing about Cost Plus on Western is that they have parking under the building that they validate. Then you can also go to the Pike Place Market just a short block south.

squareeyesParticipantI’ve been listening to Pandora at work for several months. I have the radio station that I created named “Mostly Old” (currently playing John Mayall), but occasionally check out some of their preexisting stations. No commercials, and they stop the music every three hours or so to make sure I’m still listening. Certainly beats the other online options I no longer listen to!
May 21, 2008 at 9:58 pm #624864RSMemberOkay, I’m sold. I’m booking an appointment today. I see they have a referrals program. Will they know you as Charlabob, Charlabob? :)

Tonya42MemberGroups of people within the UN, if you want specifics. He knew the UN inside and out and in my opinion represented the kind of honor that was behind the original idea or concept of the organization.
He was sent there precisely to break up logjams and ram through reforms that prevented the UN from doing anything of substance. And he was sucssessful.
He was able to see what the UN actually is rather than what everyone wants to pretend it is. He saw the UN not as a group of people with good intentions but a group of different agencies with different agendas, some of which are relatively effective and some of which are ineffective or even dangerous…
The trouble with many UN defenders is that they refuse to see this fundamental problem, and demand a constantly expanding role for the United Nations without explaining how its lack of democratic accountability is to be addressed.
To be blunt I am talking about 90% of the members of the UN who oppose Bolton and his style of demanding results.
He accomplished a great deal for various causes, Darfur, Aids, the Congo etc.
Bolton got more done in his short time there than corrupt and useless secretary general Kofi did in his entire stay.

JanSParticipantWS Mom…I’ve been listening to Pandora Radio for aobut a year now…it’s great…and once you’ve created a whole bunch of stations, you can do a mix…great when there’s company, and you don’t want to screw with the music…..

AnonymousInactiveAnd pretty soon we’re going to hear the *but he wasn’t his pastor for 20 years* cry. It is still relevant, as the article you posted pin-pointed. McCain is actively seeking the endorsement of these people to appease the far-right conservative crowd. When called on it, his answer is , well I don’t agree with EVERYTHING they say but I’m grateful for their endorsement.
Where is the outrage over McCain not denouncing these idiots. I’ll take *god damn America* over *the holocaust was the Jews own fault*, any day.

in forum West Seattle Rants & RavesWSMomParticipantOkay, so I’ve been happily posting on the WSB and listening to some awesome tunes on Pandora Radio. You get to create your own radio station just by putting in the name of your favorite band. I’m loving my new “Death Cab For Cutie” station. No commercials either.
